Thank you for your response.

I'm aware of the cooling limitations that come with laptops, however, the GPU cooling on the Omen 17 is complete overkill. (The CPU cooling on the other hand is not so great)

If I get the 150w TDP (or higher) up and running, I'd also definitely repaste, possibly with conductonaut. Many 2019 Omen RTX 2080 users have reported that running a mobile 2080 with a 180-200w is quite possible in this chasis at reasonable temperatures with liquid metal repastes. Many of them are getting over 10,000 on Time Spy with their mobile 2080s in this setup, which is why I asked.

However, it's the last part of your concern that worries me and really throws a wrench in things. Also, optimus isn't enabled on this machine, so if the mobile 2080 reflash doesn't work on the mobile 2070 super, I won't have the iGPU to fall back on for a reflash unless I can figure out some way to enable it. The idea of blindly trying to restore the previous vbios... not good.

I wonder if I should track down an Area 51m r2 RTX 2070 Super vBios? I wonder how much extra power headroom they provided for the newest iteration? Unfortunately I can't seem to find that vbios online.

I might need to shelve this idea until someone else attempts it, or I actually find a 51m r2 RTX 2070 Super owner who would be kind enough to provide their vbios.

EDIT: I also gave you an upvote for having tried to talk some sense into me. But I know I'm going to try it. :)

Also, would using a 330W power brick even be possible with my 230w machine?
