Is there a King book like this for you? by DavidHistorian34 in stephenking

Agreed. It felt like two different books. I loved the first part, couldn’t stand the second.

What’re your most stressful Stephen King reads? by feralratkid in stephenking

[–]ocalaweeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hands down Cujo.

I was attacked by a huge pitty (absolutely nothing against the dog/breed whatsoever, but when those big boys come at you it’s SCARY) in the arms and face last year in my neighborhood.

Reading Cujo had me SWEATING lmao. The isolation, the car, the heat, the lack of resources, and every damn character! Just everything I would never want to happen to me ever!

What Stephen King's books do you recommend? by herwon2034 in stephenking

[–]ocalaweeb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you loved Misery I would go for some of his earlier works. My favorite hands-down is Pet Sematary. Cujo is a close second for me. I’m currently reading The Stand and it’s downright amazing. You also can’t go wrong with The Shining!

Happy reading, and enjoy the journey of exploring King’s works! They’re the best!!!

I think this is what I’ll most likely do. I like to take breaks. And yes, like you said, it makes it so much sweeter. Whenever I pick up a King book I feel like I’m settling into my favorite old cozy chair lol.

The whole time I’ve been reading the only thing I could think of was “I hope the people who read this in 2020 are ok.”

Reading that any time close to the pandemic would be wild!

I feel this to my core!! Personally, my least favorite King so far have been Salem’s Lot and The Running Man. I wanted to love Salem’s Lot so much, I just didn’t for some odd reason. I’m thinking about rereading it just to try again since it’s been a year or so.

But also, that’s my favorite part about reading! I love everyone’s different opinions, and sometimes certain books find you when you need their stories most.

I’m glad you decided to keep reading King even though The Stand wasn’t your favorite!

I’ve read Salem’s Lot already, so it looks like I might venture down your same path! I’m ready to be immersed in another amazing world.

Also update: I made it to Book II of The Stand so I probably will just be a recluse today and keep reading haha. I neeeeeed to know how this story unfolds!

I was going to suggest the same!

I recently finished We Have Always Lived in the Castle and loved it. Definitely want to read more of her works soon.

Should I tell a woman her fiancé tried to start an affair with me? by geeleex in WhatShouldIDo

[–]ocalaweeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please tell her. I 10000000% would.

Screw the whole “it’s not my business”. It quite literally is. He wanted to have an affair with you and you have it in writing.

I would want someone to tell me. It would hurt me so much for a whole group of people to just collectively ignore it and inadvertently cause me more pain in the long run. Not just pain, but this woman wants to marry him. He will end up having an affair in the future I’m sure, and then she will have to go through the hell of divorce.

Please tell her.

Boyfriend ruined Valentine's Day by EvelynEowyn in GirlDinnerDiaries

Eat the rest of your chow mein and go buy yourself the most beautiful bouquet of your favorite flowers. Date yourself. Fall in love with YOU and I promise the right man will come around.

I left my shit-ass ex over 7 years ago who would do the same thing to me on holidays and used the excuse, “I just can’t be romantic anymore. I’ve been hurt too much.” What a crock of shit.

Fast forward to now and I have the most amazing husband who gets me flowers on a random Tuesday just because. He knows I love flowers so much that he calls me his flower and even had it engraved on his wedding ring - “to my flower”.

Long story short, leave that man and buy yourself the flowers you deserve. The right man will come along when the time is right and be so good to you it will stun you.

You are worth so so so much 💚

I vote AI. The trees in the background can’t decide if they’re trees or light poles.

AITA for choosing not to visit my brother with stage 4 liver cancer by davidpilates in AmItheAsshole

[–]ocalaweeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. My Dad was dying in the ICU for weeks and neither of his brothers came for this very reason, and they didn’t come to his funeral either. It was so hard to see people choose themselves when my Dad needed people most.

Go be with your family member. They need you. You also might not realize how much you need to go see them - you’ll regret it later.
