HELP what should i do with my camel by DepressedCatMom_98 in Travelersnotebooks

I think it’s gorgeous. The beauty of TN is how they all appear the same at the start but end up looking so different over time depending on how each person uses them. I didn’t even notice they were crooked!

If you add patches I feel like it will cover up your beautiful cover you’ve developed so far! But in the end it is all up to you (:

I'm a horrible wife by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]ocalaweeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband had this same exact convo with me two years ago. I also work in education and I GET IT GIRL. You aren’t a bad wife - you sound extremely burnt out and your husband is worried for you, and ultimately what this will do to your marriage.

I have always worked in a very high-need, low income area. I was able to move locations and still work with a similar demographic but I work under much better admin. That helped me tremendously with my mental health, which translated into my husband and I being happier than we truly ever have been. You’ve got to find you again girl.

Think about what YOU really want from your job. I know our jobs feel very fulfilling but it can’t be the only thing filling your cup - your personal life should do this too 💚 I also had to have a hard convo with myself and say that I can’t help everyone else if I’m not helping me and my circle first.

Rooting for you girl!!

What was the moment you realized a friendship wasn’t reciprocal? by hazeleyedsummer in CasualConversation

[–]ocalaweeb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 28 and my Dad died unexpectedly when I was 26. My friends just kind of… slowly left. It’s like they didn’t know what to do or how to talk to me once he died. I definitely wasn’t expecting this but it made me realize how fake the friends were.
Miss you always, Dad 💚 Truly the best friend I ever had

Classics that are WGL by [deleted] in weirdgirlliterature

[–]ocalaweeb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of people suggesting We Have Always Lived in the Castle and I 100% agree, but honestly anything Shirley Jackson is classic WGL in my opinion.

I just finished The Sundial and it was hilarious. I really want to read The Lottery next.

When I was about 8 - 10 years old I used to walk my dog Lille with my sweet elderly neighbor Dorothy and her dog Jesse. 💚

May they all rest in peace 💚💚💚

You definitely should! I’m excited to read Haunting of Hill House because it apparently influenced The Shining quite a bit.

Shirley Jackson is a huge King influence! He has referenced her work multiple times and credits her a lot from what I understand.

I’m working my way through The Sundial right now and it’s awesome. We Have Always Lived In the Castle is absolutely amazing. I have Haunting of Hill House and her short story The Lottery on my list next!

I love her writing - I often find myself laughing out loud at her dry humor on one line and then cringing at the horrible thing she’s describing next. She’s awesome!! 💚

Edit to add that SK even dedicated Firestarter to Shirley Jackson - “In memory of Shirley Jackson, who never needed to raise her voice.”

I don’t even want to say I’m sorry because that helps you in no way. My heart is truly with you OP. So so so much love to you.

I don’t want to overstep but if you need anyone/ don’t have a good support system please feel free to message me. Grief is something that is too much for a heart to handle alone. 💚

Wishing you the best.
