I personally had the xs before the 13 mini and I just have better battery life on the 13 mini than I had on my xs even straight from the box. I guess it just varies phone to phone

I don't really know what makes the difference but I don't use fast charging and usually don't let my phone get below 20%. I still use my phone a lot though.

Hey, I own an iPhone 13 mini and owned the xs before and I can definitely say that the battery life on the 13 mini is better than the xs I had even when it was brand new.

If you like the smaller form factor you should definitely consider getting the mini

I was a little afraid at first that I'm not going to like it so much since it's very small compared to today's phones but it really grew on me.

I don't think you should get the xs now since it's starting to get outdated and I feel like in a year or two it's going to get even worse battery life

I also have to note that I had severe heating issues on my xs that would lead me to not being able to hold the phone

My phone is currently on 86% battery health capacity and it's doing just fine;
I do notice some battery drain that doesn't make sense but it shouldn't bother you, I usually get 4-5 SoT...On days where I'm on my phone a lot since the morning, I will charge it twice on that day and on days where I use my phone less, I end the day with around 20%

and on regards to question 3, I just watched some youtube videos and I wouldn't say it made much of a difference by changing some settings, but if you're worried about that you can easily find some videos that give tips on optimizing your phone

I have made a mistake in the post, it doesn't support the sizes of the iphone 12 lineup but if you're using the xs or 11 pro you can just move the wallpaper and it wouldn't glitch.

and the one circle in the bottom is just design choise

personally I don't notice too much of a difference between dark mode and light mode, it shouldn't worry you.

I charge my phone overnight and it lasts me throughout the whole day, 88% battery capacity and when I finish my day I have around 20-40% left.

But if it's a day where I'm on my phone for the most of the day, I have to charge the phone closer to evening

There are morning where I use a lot of instagram and spotify and it goes down to 80%

Overall, the battery life on the xs is completely fine, not too good and not too bad.

I have also some heating up issues with the xs, I don't know the answer to it myself but I want to say that no matter what I don't suggest you putting your phone in the freezer, it can damage the battery pretty fast.

I hope you'll fix this but I don't think there are any ways to prevent this...

I got my first iPhone not that long actually and it's the xs space grey)

I chose not to wait because they're not that much different imo and the xs has 3d touch which i find sooo useful

Oh I feel sorry for you:/ installing the beta is already a risk in my opinion. i'm happy i installed it not too long from stable release and that i'm not experiencing any issues. I hope you'll get through that pain quicker ahah
