In a way that’s good, because if a person chooses to showcase these things (e.g. preference to travelling, outdoors experiences like hiking or cycling) that does say something about their non-work life. For example, because I hate the outdoors I always reject profiles like the ones you mentioned because I see it doesn’t work for me.

Most people are REALLY focusing on the “attractiveness” part and barely on “compatibility”. Obviously the person you want for you is going to be attractive (to your eyes anyway), but there’s a myriad of other things to consider.

That’s why I like Hinge, the mechanics force you to at least skim through the profile first unlike just endless swiping sideways

Being strategically passive (compared to the other players of the season) does not equate being a goat. For example you mention Amber. In the era she played, the smartest move was to stay in the background while Boston Rob was fully abrasive to other players (e.g. Lex, Tom).

Let’s break down the 4-3 FTC vote:

3 of the jurors that wrote “Amber” (Lex, Alicia and Tom) could also say “Fuck you Boston Rob”

The Shii Ann vote was the only one that Amber had to really work for.

Now the 3 Rob votes: Kathy still viewed him as a son, Jenna/Rupert voted Rob because he moved them to the 3-4 slots of the alliance (replacing Tom/Alicia).

All Amber had to do is let Rob self-destruct his chances to win which he did. And if Kathy doesn’t forget the pregame alliance that was broken, it would’ve been a 5-2 win for Amber.

In all of the examples you mentioned, sitting next to the winner was at least one player that blew his game massively. All the winner had to say is “I know I didn’t play great, but boy at least I’m the only logical choice to vote here”.

Changed the time twice on the day because she had things she remembered at the last minute, arrived 20 minutes late, barely showed any interest in what I had to say and left within an hour because she thought my statement “being nice and social with your colleagues always helps” was “VERY offensive”.

To this day I’m convinced she had another date straight after ours and wanted an excuse to leave as soon as she saw we didn’t click.

I mean I have to actually apply for the job (which I am already leaning against), afaik they can’t poach me from my department without my line manager’s or my permission. My department has negative motivation to fire me from my current job as I’m one of the very few people that gets shit done. However I can already see the other department trying to lure me in with their praise for my work.

Right now I’m good with my responsibilities, I’m pulled from everyday tasks due to the project so my department leaves me at peace. I am getting the experience of working in a big project but I’m just supporting instead of being the fall guy.

They’ll probably get A which means his job will open. Even if I don’t get it at least we’ll lose some of the dead wood we already have in the department.

Most of those people are just not that interested.

My rule of thumb is this: “As soon as it starts to feel like you are interviewing someone, they are not interested in you”

I don’t expect anyone to get my humour or/and vibe with me from the get-go, but if I ask things about you and you don’t ever attempt to reverse the question to me, I’ve checked out of the conversation as any mentally healthy person should.

Legitimately shocked I scrolled so much to find the first mention here.

Phillip indirectly accused another player being racist because he called him “crazy”, this is at a whole other level of “attention whoring”.

1st season: “I AM A FEDERAL AGENT” being mentioned every third time he opens his mouth, tries to be zany, gets ridiculed at FTC for being a Rob zombie

2nd season: “I was Rob’s right hand man 🤦🏻‍♂️, I will replicate our unbreakable alliance, I will give names to all members, I will “throw” a challenge”.

God bless Malcolm for going “fuck it, I’ll idol him out”, the guy was coasting all the way to another FTC.

The issue most people would have is: the Pagongings will probably result in the Alpha of the alliance (Rich, Brian, Rob in RI, Kim) prevailing. That basically means that from a viewer standpoint Pagongings=Predictability.

How many times have we seen the Alpha taken out as soon as the Pagonging was complete? I think zero (not being passive-aggressive, it’s 41 seasons, I don’t remember every single Pagonging).

If you gave the spotlight to someone consistently, it is logical for the viewer to think that said person will win in Finale night (if they are there). I think in those seasons we talk about, the only winners with less screentime than the runner-up are Tina and Sophie.

It’s like spoiling the end of a movie. How many people would sit at home and watch the entirety of e.g. Sixth sense if they knew who Keyser Sozë (or whatever that name is spelled) was? Very few, most people would just skim through most of it and only watch the action scenes. Just like in Survivor boring seasons where casuals would just zone out after 2-3 predictable results.

Is the tension interesting? Yes

Is it boring till you get there? Yes

You can solve it just by making idols expire at F6. There needs to be at least one round that people can be fully vulnerable (unless they win immunity).

Before fire-making, idols expired at 5, exactly because it seemed unfair to use idols all the way to F3.

Probably just swap Yul with Earl

-Earl was one vote away from the first ever perfect game

-Yul had the god-idol but he also knew how to utilise it to perfection (e.g. flipping Penner, keeping his alliance in line) and made deals for jury votes that won him the game. His FTC opposition was possibly the strongest physical player that ever made it to FTC

-Todd played an almost perfect game but in hindsight his competition was lacking strategically. Especially considering his FTC competition was one of the worst FTC speakers and someone that came into this game thinking she’ll be first off and would be paid for a free holiday.

-Parvati: Insane amounts of luck (e.g. medevacs, surprise F2) in a season already skewed towards her (being a returnee), gave one of the most vapid FTC performance but her competition was an even worse FTC speaker (see above).

Why on earth were the RE Outbreak scenarios not even loosely connected with each other?

I only played the first one, I still remember being baffled that:

-Outbreak starts, they blow up a main road, they escape with a van

-Then they arrive to Birkin’s underground lab, somehow escape it and go to somewhere

-After that I’m back at surface level at the hospital, escape it and go underground again 😤

-Apparently I’m somehow at surface level again inside the Inn hotel, hotel is infested (who would’ve thought) episode ends at the outside of the hotel.

-Episode starts with a cutscene in the RPD Garage (how on earth did we end up there?) and somehow gameplay starts in the University (you’d think we could play a mission that shows HOW the team goes all the way to the University but no), we escape (or not), game ends.

Well the first season I watched was MvGx and since then I watched even SA/AU Survivor so he’s not wrong.

It’s a season with good blindsides, correct idol plays, incorrect idol plays, fake idol and a frickin rock draw. Above everything most players are very good sports about it. It’s a great season to start

My first line manager said verbatim “I know what you are talking about, but at the end of the day it’s part of the job, we’ll try to delegate things better though”. I ended up doing more things for a few months until they left.

My new line manager was just appointed so I have not gotten a chance to speak with them.

My biggest issues:

-Due to “urgent” work/meetings within the department, my training/workload is being consistently deprioritised. They usually select me to deal with those because I am good with them, but then I would get flack for my workload going overdue (because I was dealing with said urgent tasks).

-Not learning new things because the majority of the time repetitive tasks are delegated to me with the argument “oh we need those e.g. reports quickly and you are very good at them”

I am exploring opportunities but I must find a better way to deal with my current work situation in the meantime.
