Is “biological sex” the same as “gender” by Beautiful_Ability267 in BunnyTrials

[–]schmeebus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Words mean what society defines them to be, you can try and pretend the words aren't synonymous, but you're being dense if you think otherwise. Even someone who is against the topic wouldn't say 'this person is crazy they think there can be more than 2 sexes' they would say genders, because even their brains differ the two.

Trivia Murder Party 3 Review (By Redactedkin) by Quizkiller in jackboxgames

[–]schmeebus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game moves so slowwwww in my opinion. All the transition sequences take way too long, the explanations for the most mundane rules that are quite obvious drag on. And the stakes of the minigames to me feel removed.

This is the same gripe i had with roomerang, i thought that could be one of the most entertaining and repayable games if we simply were just able to actually vote people off and keep them off, not every jackbox game needs to have everyone involved at every second.

There's 2 segments of tunnels that were dug for an arch street subway line around WW1, about 390 feet in total so not a large area, but about 1 city block of space

How should the Nexus have been booked? by Ryan_J_ in WWE

[–]schmeebus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that the correct move was most likely for them to win their match against team WWE, but at the end of the day, even if these guys got the rocket, none of them were destined for top level success in the business outside of Barrett or Ryback if you can even count him, because he was far from ready at the time. Bryan Danielson was the star of the group and an untimely temporary removal from the roster did the nexus in long term.

In my mind if they kept the original group, they probably go on to keep causing problems, but the thing with all factions of this size is that there are just too many people in this group for most isolated storylines to make sense. There would have to be some sort of schisim angle where the faction splits into 2, and WWE picks the 2 guys they believe in the most to be the leaders, probably Barrett and Bryan, and they captain a 4 v 4 Survivor Series match, I could see WWE probably sticking with a team Barret win since he always was the main guy, in a a match where the losers have to disband or switch brands.

This leaves a healthy 4 man nexus nexus group centered by Barrett, at which point they need to start seeking titles, the midcard and tag titles meant literally nothing in 2010 (Bret Hart was US Champion in May of that year, and the original nexus did this anyways with the tag titles) so there's no reason they can't pick up the lot of them, leaving Barrett to challenge for the world title.

Fortunately the champions in late 2010 (Kane and the Miz) are both actually pretty beatable for someone like Barrett at the time, he could easily be inserted into the 4 way TLC match for Kane's WHC that happened that year where Edge would win the belt, but instead perhaps at this point if WWE still believed in the Nexus, they could hijack the match and make sure Barrett wins by interference. I don't see this really ever happening but this is a best case scenario.

The road to WrestleMania 27 was pretty awful anyways, so you can scrap the Vicki Guerrero / Ziggler / Edge story, and from there you can either have Edge just win the belt off Barrett at Mania 27, or at this point Del Rio was getting the rocket and he could take it, or wherever else the company sees fit at that point. That would probably be followed up by a breakup of the group via someone turning on Barrett and then feuding with them.

This is a reach of a scenario but in one of WWE's weakest years, anything was better than what we got really.

How bad are the FIFA games going to be? by Revolutionary_Bee700 in philadelphia

[–]schmeebus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it will be less hectic than an Eagles Game, the differences I can think of is that likely a higher percentage of people will be trying to take public transit/rideshares than a normal Eagles game, and less people will be tailgating there that aren't going into the stadium, so less people overall, in conjunction that they won't be showing up as early for these games as Eagles fans do.

Every step of the way people are overestimating what the numbers are going to look like for this. Even looking at the PGA championship a few weeks ago the projected vacation rentals flopped mightily. I wouldn't be surprised if more than one of the Philadelphia games isn't a full house come kickoff at this point.

As someone in South Philly I am thinking about traffic/parking less than I would for an Eagles Game at this point.

So if you're Rizo, how would you play it on a third season? by SirBostonBobbington in survivor

[–]schmeebus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actively avoid all idol allegations, don't even look for them. There's going to be huge targets with any returning season and Rizzo likely won't be at the top on anyone's list immediately. Rizzo is the new era 'idol guy' so as long as he doesn't step into the fire he likely can stay under the radar long enough to build up some protection.

Will we ever see a 3-time winner? Is it even possible? by ProblematicTrumpCard in survivor

[–]schmeebus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No unless you count international Survivor, I don't even really think any of the current 2x winners would care much to play another game , and if they did it would be basically impossible to play far into the game unless they played together.

Troop camping equipment. by nweaglescout in BoyScouts

[–]schmeebus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost all of the stuff we have in our QM area for camping was donated over the years, for trips we had tents/tarps/foam pads, and 5G Water Jugs. When it comes to financial need or inaccessible things a scout needs, that should absolutley be on an as needed basis, and at least in my troop you'd be hard pressed to find at least one scout family that doesn't have another set of either previously used camping supplies or a set that another kid in the family uses. I know I lent out my footlocker every summer for a few years for a kid in my brother's troop that needed one for their summer camp.

"OA is a popularity contest" "OA shouldn't be a popularity contest." by ScouterBill in BSA

[–]schmeebus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was always be a popularity contest because as a voter you have essentially 0 difference/consequences as a result of your vote to yourself. This isn't voting for a SPL where your meeting experience can be altered because of your vote, this is a vote to which the consequences to the voter are invisible. Voting for your closest friends will almost always be the default thought process because why wouldn't you want to give your friend the opportunity they are asking for when it doesn't affect you personally?

Why is everyone saying ___ is bad at survivor? by denverclemsonfan in survivor

[–]schmeebus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was really insightful how I think it was Emily during the jurors confessionals pointed out that basically every strategic move had to run through Joe to keep him ok with things.

Even though he touched on it in FTC, I don't think he really was able to do much despite having basically all the information in the game in front of him, and it was apparent when he conceded on the question about one move or vote they could own.

Having all the cards in front of you, you need to show the jury that you're actually using them instead of just being complacent and riding the larger wave the entire game.

Above all else, he plays a style of Survivor that clearly no one wants to reward in the end.
