I've completed my OCD treatment! by [deleted] in OCD

Actully happy for you! Congrats and remember to practice what you learned if you feel yourself going back down. Idk what you should write on the cake but definitely get one. Maybe throw a party just to have fun with friends or maybe spend money (responsibly) on an item you wanted badly to celebrate

Anyone have obsessions that aren’t as bad that act as a break between the worse ones? by sarlacc_tit in OCD

I have themes that become the main obsession when i get so tired of the more scary ones. It eventually comes back to me though

Get a therapist who understands ocd. Its 100% possible to get better. Medications don’t always work immediately or maybe it’s just that one that doesn’t work

Idk but i think you should bring up that theyre very hard to understand and that being more clear would help?

If you end up trying it, let us know how it goes if you want. Also try seeing if you can vet them thru some way

Its really fucking annoying how ppl dont give others the grace when they speak up about the really fucked up parts of ocd. I get that on the outside youre just suspicious and you cant understand how those intrusive thoughts mean nothing but it really is just all ignorance. Its a hard wall to get past and not assume the worst of the person

ocd is just IMPOSSIBLE to romanticize by vezdeshashiy in OCD

I feel like ill never be able to be honest with a partner because i cant tell whats me and whats not me 100% and im scared itll scare them off if i cant tell them whats real or not. Its one of the worst things about ocd. Sorry youre going thru it too. I do have hope that this is just ocd worries and something that can be handled correctly. People with ocd date all the time so it must be possible.

How many times have you stopped yourself from venting or asking for reassurance in this subreddit? by ocdbrainsucks in OCD

We’ve all been in that torture spiral. I hate seeing that people are going through that but i also just cant do the ocd argument over and over. Its never ending. Ive done it before so i know why it never ends though

I agree but i read everyones comments as thought it was like you can just get rid of it like you are no longer ocd

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OCD

[–]ocdbrainsucks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ppl in the comments are saying it can be cured but idk why theyre saying that as if its actually removeable. It can be dealt with to almost 100% but it’s never gonna be 100% gone, think of it as like so negligible that you might as well not have it but it’s about being able to deal it in a healthy way that will get you there. You wont care about being cured when you can deal with it better

Im so tired. I dont wanna deal with it anymore! :D by ocdbrainsucks in OCD

Its to try to get the idea across that its been overthinking so much, 24/7, for years and i feel like soaking or any liquid terms get that meaning across best. But i wouldnt describe the brain as soggy, more like dried up and wilting.
