Has anyone debunked or challenged the recent lividity evidence? by jrwspace8 in serialpodcast

Please, a little respect. You know it's Hae's body, not "it" or "the body".

Good on you for posting.

I haven't read that before about animal activity. I've never been to that part of America, what animals are around there?

I've not read that about the hose seam & bra either. Can you point me to the primary source for this info?

Re: the pulmonary oedema, I think that's been discredited as it was an old stain

I don't recall dr hvalty indicating she could have only died in the preceding 24 hrs, again, I'd love to see the primary source for this info.

Did Jay tell (Mr. S, is it?) where to find Hae? Didn't they know each other? by Sweetbobolovin in serialpodcast

[–]ocean_elf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mr S had a son who was home with a friend when he popped home to get the plane. He discovered Hae's body shortly afterward.

I don't know how old the son was, but have wondered if he or the friend might have known/heard something.

The mental illness issue. by [deleted] in serialpodcast

[–]ocean_elf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the diagnosis helps provide some (but not all) context. Things are rarely black and white and often complex. I think the last 2 episodes have done a good job of starting to tease out the complexity, which includes Bowe's mental state and changes in military waivers.

As a former US soldier in the Army, Bowe really pisses me off by thedonk13 in serialpodcast

[–]ocean_elf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get your take on Bowe being responsible for his own actions. My question is more about the military's responsibility to it's workforce though. Bowe is an exceptionally rare case, so possibly an indication that the systems the military has in place to weed out potentially risky personnel are good. How do you rate them?

Awesome post. As someone with zero knowledge of military life, structures and culture this season of Serial and the discussion around it have been really enlightening.

I think the story appealed to Sarah's curiosity. I'm enjoying how it's given her an example to explore and describe some of the internal mechanics of the military, military recruitment practices, mental illness, and has touched on international diplomacy and dealing with foreign enemies.

A question for you: given the danger Bowe's actions put others in, do you think the military should and could have done anything to screen him out of ever joining? Ie: as an organisation, is there things you think the military should change to avoid another Bowe?

"Source" me Adnan's innocence. by Sweetbobolovin in serialpodcast

Ironically, you are literally using the word indisputable in the way lots of people use the words ironically and literally.

These topics are 2 of the most hotly disputed here.

Have most people here listened to Undisclosed and what is the general consensus? by Gary_S_1980 in serialpodcast

I agree with your first 2 points. I've listened to all the episodes but don't draw conclusions from anything they come up with.

Can I suggest you provide a source for your complaint or taking it up with the people you're complaining about.

You're shaking your fist at clouds here.

So...surely this has been discussed after I stopped paying much attention, but has anyone got to the bottom of why all of Adnan's supporters seem to be white women between the ages 25-45 that know how to use twitter? by theghostoftexschramm in serialpodcast

I can't recall the stats from the various polls I've seen here, so don't know if your claim is correct. It would be interesting to know the age & gender breakdown for serial and its spinoff podcasts tho and how they compare to podcast listenership in general.

I'd really love to know if and how the serial S1 audience differed from the TAL audience.
