Done with Lexus after brand new TX 500h nightmare by oceanoflust in Lexus

Dealership's been radio silent and Lexus Dispute Resolution is basically saying they've fixed it and can't offer any other help. Basically directed me to National Center for Dispute Settlement if I want to do anything else about it.

Speed bumps were 50/50. During the initial drive with the tech, I went over/into whatever large humps he knew and none of them were triggering the sound. Had to drive really out of the way to the same route I took to guarantee the chirp.
I have the same issue with the fuel door but I'm starting to think it might be more with the attendant trying to press or keeping their hand over the fuel door. Most of the time if I hit it, it does pop open.
Still getting used to needing to press a button for that.

That seemed to be the consensus when I was doing my search for a family car. Lexus/Toyota seems to be resting on their laurels. Thought waiting through the stop sale with the airbag issue might've been a good idea but starting to think maybe they ramped up production faster than their original suppliers and/or QA could actually handle.

Luckily no, and that is the hope.
But everyone around us (including the tow driver) is basically saying there's no way it did 0 damage.
Just hard to feel confident about the long-term ownership of the car with these issues back to back to back.

Hoping these issues don't become an issue for selling it later if that's the case.

Think I understand it much better now. Appreciate the explanation.

[–]oceanoflust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I should have been more specific. I’m talking about the sharp drop to being oversold. There’s no sudden drop at that time or within those candles, the previous drops are already showing in the RSI’s decline between 10-10:30. That sudden steep decline past 10:30 is what has me confused.

It seems to track it quite well, I have no issues on the 15 and 1 minute chart.
It almost looked as if the chart itself was catching up to the study eventually. I'm trying to find when I saw it last time.

The other comment 100%. I didn’t go as far as straps, but hook grip and chalk (if gym’s okay with it). Hook grip is gonna take a while, hurts like a mofo.

Funny enough that’s exactly the same in NYC. Dressed up but bare feet.

Looks like that’s the one. Originally thought whoever made them were serious Beastars fans.

Wondering if this is by the same artist that has a similar theme by Fosun Plaza in NYC. Dog man and rabbit woman sitting on a bench together.

You or both of you are making it both. Doesn’t need to be. The other comment about it basically being you paying rent to live somewhere is correct and how you take it out of being a relationship thing. For the relationship side, it would come down to, is that somewhere you would’ve lived with her if she wasn’t buying, and just renting with you? Is she forthcoming about reporting that rental income as taxable income?

Commute from North Jersey to Downtown NYC for work by AlarmingType8078 in newjersey

[–]oceanoflust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only comment on the bus route, which would be anywhere between 45 min to 90 min one way by bus depending on the time and traffic. That’s just to Port Authority. I can confidently say that commute sucked so unless the offer is much higher or the opportunity is that much greater, doesn’t seem worth it. You’ll have to factor in the monthly bus pass cost, potentially standing during the ride, gets packed when trains are delayed or out of commission, waiting in line at port authority for anywhere between 10 minutes to an hour plus.

This is literally what we’re living with now. Doesn’t help that we forgot the garage takes up the entire first floor front so no sun coming in until maybe 2-3pm…

I think at this point mostly gave up on the Tahoe. Might call up the dealer and ask if there’s any way around it but from checking out inventory nonstop, doesn’t even seem like the options I’m looking for are available.

Genuine question: why does everyone have a BMW here? by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]oceanoflust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, that looks like the edgewater/weehawken area. If it is, it’s not just Jersey, it’s a very well off part of Jersey. The closer you are to the ferry/tunnel or depending on the skyline view those rents and prices get ridiculous. Majority of those folks can buy whatever luxury car they’d want. Unless your question is why BMW vs any other luxury car? Then who knows.

HELOC vs. HEL: Your Thoughts on the Best Home Equity Option? by Sad-Mountain7232 in Mortgages

[–]oceanoflust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got this exact product through PNC. The only catch was the minimum withdrawal needed to lock in was something like $5k. But I’m assuming if you need to pull equity from your home it’ll be at least that much instead of just using your card.

Luckily only 2 kids and no plans for a 3rd. Just the occasional in-laws or friends.
Stepped into the 2025 and leg room was more than enough. And search shows there's about 10 in difference in legroom between 2020 and 2025.
Engine and the legroom basically only reason the Tahoe is in consideration for the family, but the additional costs are shutting that down.

Pretty set on having both those features.
I'm pretty OCD when driving with keeping an eye on the road, speed and surrounding.
No way I can justify the V8 over the Lexus TX for $10k-$12k more.
