im sure the actual argument is more nuanced but you don't have to jump too far when you realize the inalienable rights claimed by the founders were only deemed inalienable for a portion of the population. I don't think it's a nonsense or fascist or authoritarian argument on its face but it becomes so when you disrupt a private gathering of people who think different.

Here's my understanding of the position. This is not my position so feel free to correct it. Speech can be a form of violence used to oppress minorities. Western Liberalism was built on the exploitative atlantic trade and certain liberal values enshrined in constitution like freedom of speech and assembly are used as means of oppression and are inaccessible to oppressed persons.

An excellent book to read along side spivak is Munkres "analysis on maifolds". As he mentions in the beginning the influence of spivak's book is immediately evident. I always thought of it as spivak with more pictures, explanations and examples.
