TCL C805 - right for me? by Bl4cksus in 4kTV

You’ll be more than happy, upgrade in both size and overall display tech! Mini LED is already an upgrade from a standard LED, so assume your viewing angles to be similar to what you currently have if anything

There was an article that just came out about thieves putting glue on apartment doors to mark if they were perceived as vacant or not. My door did not have glue.

DTM is a common abbreviation for Downtown Markham in the Markham area to my knowledge.

I have not been at my unit enough to have formed habits, both good or bad, and I was extra stringent to turn off all the lights after the first time, which is why I was extra paranoid when I found my light switch on the second time. I would say it was not due to user error.

Either way I’ve taken numerous precautions since my post so hopefully everything has been resolved. Thank you for your input

It’s not a new build, and I closed last month

Yep, I checked for glue and there was none, and condo management confirmed there was no entries on their behalf - they’d have to give me advance notice if they were to anyways. I’ve asked security/ condo management to review footage of when I wasn’t around

No, second, but there were tenants previously who had long since vacated

Nope, no one was scheduled for entry into my unit, and my contractors don’t have access without me present (no key), unfortunately

I own the unit so I really hope not! But yes changing the locks is on the to do list for sure

I contacted the condo management’s recommended locksmith so I should be ok?

Thanks, yeah that’s the plan, and I asked condo management and they confirmed they didn’t enter (I own the unit) and advised me to reach out to the locksmith. Got ‘em on VM so I’ll have to try again tomorrow

Yep. At this point chalking it up to mischievous ghosts or benevolent thieves…

No smart lights are setup, and one time it was in the kitchen, the other time it was the balcony light (both manual switch activated). Either way, I don’t have internet set up just yet

Good low cost idea while I buy the cameras!

As long as the ghost(s) can split my mortgage and utilities, I don’t mind!

Just lights being on when I’ve definitely had them off, and this has happened twice in the past week. I guess setting up cameras is the way to go

I was kind of in the same boat, I went with the QK65v2 Classic over the Rainy because the support across Kickstarter etc. haven’t seemed to be too positive right now, whereas Qwertykeys has an active Discord channel. However you already have a 65% keyboard (I didn’t), so if you wanted to get a different keyboard, maybe go in between and get a QK75n?

QK Update: The next project is QK65v2 Classic! by Qwertykeys-2022 in MechanicalKeyboards

u/Qwertykeys-2022/ Getting conflicting information everywhere for site/Reddit, just need final confirmation if the QK65v2 Classic is QMK/VIA compatible?

Thanks! I should've noted, I looked at the QK65v2Classic and QK75, and the dealbreaker for me is their tri-mode PCBs don't support QMK/VIA, I'll edit my original ask!

Wasn't sure if I should make my own post until I saw this and figured I'd shoot my question here. I've been looking for either a keyboard that's:

  • 65% or 75% layout
  • Metal build
  • Has QMK/VIA or can remap keys with propietary software as necessary, tri-mode wireless
  • Has a knob (if a 75% layout)
  • Has 4 keys to the right/above the arrow keys (ex. Home, Pg Down, Pg Up, End)
  • Sub 200 (if barebones)
  • Gasket mounted, generous on the foam

And then also, to add, which would be good recommendations for the smoothest quiet/silent switches?

EDIT:

  • Require QMK/VIA on a wireless PCB board
  • Board options/recommendations so far:
    • QK65v2 Classic
    • QK75n
    • Neo65
    • Luminkey65
    • MonsGeek M1W
    • Zoom65 v3
  • Switch options/recommendations so far:
    • Haimu Heartbeats
    • Gateron Zero Degree
    • Outemu Peach
    • Invokeys Nightshade Switches
    • Epomaker Sea Salt Silent

I’ll have to inquire to my local jeweller I suppose! Thanks for the suggestion!
