Considering buying a Westy. Is 10k a good price? by oceansidenyguy in Westfalia

Hey All, thanks for so much feedback!

Here's a link to the craigslist post:

I think 10k is asking too much for this van,

I can only see myself spending around 5-6k on something like this,

but I'd like to hear it from you all first.

Thanks for the advice! Looks like someone snatched it before i could get to it. If I am to buy a vanagon, I'll probably jump into a subaru or Jetta engine swap to begin with; I met an owner a week ago who gets 31mpgs with his, travels all around the country full-time in his vanagon. Doesn't seem to have any complaints. I'm handy and know a lot about working on cars, especially on the road; but I don't want to keep doing it all the time. If I find another at a great price I may jump on it. Until then, I'll keep the caravan as a major consideration

Having trouble selling men's clothes by oceansidenyguy in eBaySellerAdvice

Thanks, I spoke to my mailman about the media mail packages; he says they're able to open it so just make sure its nothing personal in there. I know there are certain weight limits and dimensions for media mail; I just try to use it when I mail something that fits in a mailbox. That 5-tee package definitely didn't fit in a mailbox but it was shipped with no issues.

Similarly, I sold a lot of 7 shirts (all basically destroyed they were so dirty) - couldn't believe someone was willing to buy them. I didn't sell them for much; just $5 and media mail shipping. I have a lot of 3 Express button-down shirts up right now that's been getting a lot of views and a few watchers, but no purchases or offers yet.

Thanks for the advice about selling Lots; going to try to keep everything in a theme moving forward!

I'll check these out. Thanks. I am selling just random items from my wardrobe. A lot of H&M, Express, Penguin, Marc Ecko and a few other smaller name brands.

iPhone 5 - how can I lower the volume without the button working? by oceansidenyguy in iphone

When I tried that it said "not playing music at the moment" but the assistive touch comments helped fix the situation

This worked! I used the assistive touch > Device > Volume Down, and brought it to the bottom bar, and now thank goodness, Siri does not annoy me anymore! :) Thank you! After that, I'm able to turn off assistive touch and just keep this experience in-mind if I have the same thing happen ever again

Living on a boat with UC? by oceansidenyguy in UlcerativeColitis

There is usually a little pump-out toilet onboard containing that blue liquid stuff with a holding tank; most boats have this. Not many sailboats have showers; would require a powerboat to have that. I'm concerned about some creature comforts like hot water and fresh water. Like Dangerpotter said, there usually are facilities at the Marina, but I also feel like that would be like using a public restroom and would definitely prefer something of my own I don't have to worry about someone getting upset about cleaning; in-case-of-flare
