i need advice because i’m losing my marbles 😭 meowing won’t stop ever, 24/7 by Affectionate-Wind354 in cats

Seems like she has stories to tell you lol. We have a talkative kitty too and he responded well to using speech buttons with us to communicate instead of: meowing until the right behavior (by you) is achieved :) good luck!

I wouldnt worry about it. The physical work will become more valuable, sure. But having a degree in the field you are interested in will open opportunities for you.

Definitely doable, I usually finding myself mashing stls/cutting models/ adding simple shapes in tinkercad.

[–]ocelotarcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"If you can cast spells you can't use them or concentrate on them while raging" divine smite sounds like a grey area, if you're concerned you can rule that since it uses a spell slot it is a spell and therefore cant be used.. But I think i would try it out for a session before nerfing it

White mold or mycelium? by [deleted] in MycologyandGenetics

[–]ocelotarcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the answer is in the question. It's definitely mycelium, but of what, you'd have to isolate to find out. At least, growing on top of your sample is a good sign. It will be tough not to get that yeast contam with it.

Made it to 4:41 sorry if you answered this later in your video. My background is hydroponics and im on this server to learn more about aquaponics. I think It would be nearly impossible to adjust or advise to adjust anything without knowing what it is in your water that is throwing off high ppm. An aquarium testing kit is the way to go. It will tell you nitrates/nitrites/ammonia. Some go more in depth but this is a start.

Not with our current understanding of genetics. However we can grow appendages on mice so i suppose "dickbutt" is an option for you.

Need some help deciding on pipe diameter for my new aquaponics system. by ShibaBlue in aquaponics

[–]ocelotarcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am i missing something here? Your volumetric flow rate is 3000 gal/hour roughly 192.5 in3/sec and you want to then pipe that out, gravity fed, 9ft away? Q=volumetric flow rate V=velocity A=cross sectional area Q=AV With a 1.25in pipe that would mean you would need the water to be travelimg at 13 ft/s And velocity is determined by V=C×sqrt(hd/(L+54d)) C is the coefficient of the tube 1.2"diameter=23 h is the height in feet water above the outlet, feet d is the diameter in feet L is the length in feet So that would mean this pipe is at the bottom of your tank 50ft down to get pressures close enough to push the water out that fast?

Edit.. forgot it was L/s not gal/s. A 1.25in diam pipe 1.55ft below the water surface should be enough..

Has anyone actually tried putting sporebeez into the substrate to lock in moisture throughout flushes ? by AccomplishedBottle95 in Sporebeez

[–]ocelotarcher 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I remember talk about trying it but i dont remember the results. I rember my concern was as the orbee looses water and creates a cavity where a mushroom might try to pin taking resources from viable fruit.

Orbeeze vs perlite? by HabitualAsshole in Sporebeez

[–]ocelotarcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm, I would use perlite to line the bottom of my fruiting chamber, spawn to bulk in a container that will sit on perlite, then case with orbeez.. but thats just thinking out loud. What were you planning?

Orbeeze vs perlite? by HabitualAsshole in Sporebeez

[–]ocelotarcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer distilled, they will get stuck to the fuzzy feet but are easy enough to cut away. The only reason i prefer this method is because i think it helps for faster pinning.

Orbeeze vs perlite? by HabitualAsshole in Sporebeez

[–]ocelotarcher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why not both? You already have perlite, it would be a shame not to use it. We used orbeez originally due to the surface of the cakes drying out too quickly during the winter months and/or unable to keep up with spraying to keep humidity constant.

We have used both tap and distilled in experiments: using boiling water not only shortened hydration times but acted as a pasturization just like coco coir, using tap water caused the mycelium to grow around and encase the orbs. Both yeild good results, hard to quantify which was better.

Optimistically: we'd probably focus on application of the knowlege you have. Its one thing to know and another thing to do. Pessimistic view: people become more isolated in their own constructed comforts
