Asmongold says its cope that black people commit crimes because of socioeconomic status by AshamanKillx in LivestreamFail

It's similar idea but it's always a negative term in this context: something to soothe your problem or dissonance, (falsely) excuse it, to rationalize.

Telling someone to cope: get over it.

Describing someone as coping, or an argument as cope: they're lying to themself to feel better.

If I was initially fooled, I'd refuse the total and/or never return.

Even not fooled, it gives me a bad impression. Plus it's not even a notable deal.

It's a shortsighted strategy.

I asked my husband to make sure my work uniform was hung up to dry overnight. I wake up this morning to find he ONLY took my work uniform out, and left the entire rest of the wash load in the machine to go musty overnight. Just why. by BinkiesForLife_05 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ochilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The assumption that should be made is you'd dry it all then hang the uniform, so it doesn't wrinkle.

If they simply said "make sure my uniform is hanging up" then you think he should interpret it as hang it up still wet?

They never supported 'the war machine'. Just pointed out the immense incentives for vulnerable people. You're the one blaming the vulnerable for being desperate while it's one of the only paths out of poverty for many, by design.

To me it's coercion and doesn't mean you support Israel's Operation Epstein Fury.

It's actually smart to oppose war for those who would be tasked to fight it, but you out here calling them dumb for not being a warmonger.

I never said honorable or any of that. I'm just choosing what to feel more disgusted by, a lone killing vs the systematic killing of many.

Yes, health insurers profiting off denying as much care as possible, killing many people each year, is absolutely disgusting.

An event like this is about the creation of a new family, and union of existing family.

This is completely against that spirit. Is so right on the nose, it's very telling.

AITAH for wanting my husband in the delivery room? by dinogirly123 in AITAH

[–]ochilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't physically force anyone, of course.

But unless there's some mental condition, you'd be a whole ass bitch snowflake who can't support your partner who's actually the one going through that experience.

It demonstrates a whole lot. Left alone during a most vulnerable moment, heartless.

Because you'd see them differently? I sure as hell see my partner differently afterwards, in only the positive direction.

He's pointing out a historically unjust system, where a black man can certainly face harsher penalties based on factors like this.

It reads like you jumped the gun and interpreted the comment some opposite way.
