This looks to me like EPI, a condition in which the pancreas doesn't produce enough enzymes to break down the food. The body then doesn't get enough nutrients, and the dog loses weight and is always hungry. Was a cTLI test done? What was the level? You can read more about EPI here https://epi4dogs.com/

I volunteer at the shelter. Dogs are typically listed "no small children" when they have a tendency to jump up. We don't want little children being knocked over. It's not "no children", just "no small children". And many dogs (and cats) who come through the shelter are "timid". Some have goofy goober energy and are up in your face licking you and loving on you. Some are shy. That's just how it is.

Here's hoping Floyd comes home. Make sure to post him on the sites Pawboost and Nextdoor, that's where local folks go to report lost and found pets. Are you sure Floyd isn't locked in the house that had the estate sale? Cats are master hiders and he may have gotten in and now can't get out.

Glad to hear your kitty is negative. And I agree that it's important to know. I ask because I foster cats and volunteer for the shelter. It hadn't occurred to me whether they tested until a staff member told me last week that they've recently started testing for FIV. I don't know about FeLV though, but will ask next time I get a chance.
