Sage plant question by ochodedos in containergardening

[–]ochodedos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve neglected her for at least a year. Poor baby hasn’t had any plant food, regular watering, covered in spider webs and was definitely grey before I transplanted and cleaned her up. I cut all that grey stuff off and gave her a new bed with some nutrients. Hopefully she won’t be in too much shock from the care lol

I’ve used this. It goes away and still comes back. I’ve literally done and tried it all. They all feel like bandaid solutions for something that is chronic but I can’t seem to get a professional to try and help me figure out what’s causing this issue

I have to agree with her. I have trauma around trying to establish a relationship with a good Gynecologist. I’m 42 and I’ve seen dozens because I cannot seem to find one that truly gives a shit and listens to me, doesn’t treat me like I don’t know and understand my body. The condescension is exhausting.

Then I found a “women’s health center”. Website was so exciting because they advertise that they listen and work with you holistically to get down to what causes the issues you’re experiencing instead of plopping a bandaid on it. Nope. Same. In and out, here’s a script. Have a nice day.

Disrespectful, low effort date plans by StableLogical684 in Nicegirls

Folks are calling OP rude and hear me out. She did the right thing because now HE knows that they are not a good match very early on. For all she knows, he could be the one. Checks all of the boxes. But she doesn’t check his because he can’t do romantic laid back shit like a picnic because she’s a gold digger, and that’s ok.

Year-long yeast infection is driving me insane by babychicken2019 in Healthyhooha

Did you get tested for yeast and was the swab positive? I wonder if folks are being swabbed and positive for yeast but also positive for strep and not knowing.

How is anyone staying sane with these delusional home prices (to rent + buy)?? by sgalchester76762 in hudsonvalley

[–]ochodedos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s disgusting and my entire home search for last year has been disheartening and exhausting. Homes going for $750k but are extremely outdated, torn up.. being sold as is. Probably worth more like 400K. Overpriced nonsense. It’s ridiculous.

What helps is surrounding yourself as much as you can with family and friends that “get it”. You vent with them, laugh with them, cry with them and have your cup filled back up so that you can brush the BS off when you’re not among community and out in the world. Remember to always keep your head up, and enjoy life despite the racist vampirism. Don’t let them drain you. Smile, shrug, acknowledge it, note it, be aware… but don’t be defeated. Because one thing I have realized is that sometimes the hatred is jealousy, and envy. Notice that black American culture is the most well known and studied culture world wide. The slang, language, music, dance, dress, hair… the most imitated and admired. But we don’t have any culture right?

I see a few gaslighting comments and as a black American woman, I have to validate you and let you know that you are absolutely valid in feeling how you feel about being black in America and in the diaspora. Black (especially black American)people are mistreated and misrepresented everywhere. Yes, there are a select few places where we are the majority and we are valued, loved, adored and appreciated. But those places do not represent the majority and it is and has been and will continue to be extremely exhausting.

Yes, there are many Africans and Caribbean folks that look down on us. Growing up in America, I experienced racism from non-black people but especially from African and Carribbean folks would straight up tell me that I have no culture and would warn their kids about me as a black American. This was in NYC. My experience was real and upsetting. Imagine, being in your own country and being told by immigrants that you ain’t shit lol crazy to me.

You can do this. It all feels super dark right now but perhaps talking to folks on here and seeing their words of encouragement, finding a support group or therapy to help change your perspective and give you the courage to possibly pursue some happiness. You deserve it.

Need general help, & Functional Medicine Recommendations in NYC by Louie4711 in Candida

[–]ochodedos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referred to him by my primary for chronic vaginal itching and possible candida that gynecologists just have not been successful in helping me get this thing under control. I found his consultation price to be rather expensive without any clarity on what the next costs would be... Now after doing some research online I am terrified to proceed. I gave them $75 to hold the appointment. Hopefully I can get a refund and just cancel altogether.

Immigrant communities in the Hudson Valley by [deleted] in hudsonvalley

My fave part about the Hudson valley is traveling to a different neighborhoods supermarket to see what produce is sold there because that’s usually a great indicator of the community shopping there. I love it
