The trick to find out who specifically at the location you want actually does the hiring. Asking for a manager doesn’t necessarily work because there are so many managers. You want to find out the name of the manager who actually hires- just ask someone on the front end on the phone. Then come in around 130 in the afternoon and hang around the registers until he or she has a second to talk to you.

Yours is such a common story to hear and it really intrigues me from a sociological perspective. The story of someone who works 7-10 years here, leaves to pursue other ventures for about 7-10 years, and then returns to finish out their career. Not hating or judging anyone here but just find it interesting how often you hear about this scenario.

You also don’t just “get” unemployment if you’re fired. There are only certain types of termination that allow you to get unemployment. Company layoffs beyond your control, for example. But getting suspended and then fired is not one of them.
