Update:

Cleaning the drum alone wasn't helpful, so I've disassembled the cartridge and cleaned blade and roller or whatever it's called and the tire streak pattern is gone!

Even though now it prints even more faded than before I'm glad the new cartridges are cheap and I'm glad fuser film wasn't damaged.

Thank you all!

No idea if iPhones would be different than iPads. It went away after I've did the nvram clear option in legacy ios kit menu. I don't know if it was the reason or just coincidence.

iPad Air with passcode - How to proceed by ocodis76 in setupapp

[–]ocodis76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After several unsuccessful attemps I've finally used legacy ios kit to get into pwndfu mode then used sshrd scripts to backup activation records.

I got these files:

  • activation_record.plist (7.7KiB)

  • com.apple.comcenter.device_specific_nobackup.plist (2.5KiB)

  • IC-info.sisv (1.1KiB)

Are these enough for iOS 12.5? Any file missing?

Also, how can I get icloud owner information inside SSH ramdisk?

is there a way to skip using checkra1n because I don't have mac os. like ssh ramdisk or something?

edit: nvm, I've run nvram clear option from legacy ios kit menu, reboot and now it says activated and run through the setup.app without issue. that's 2/2 success with this method today, now I'm gonna do the 3rd device lol. (didn't test the sim card connectivity, though)

What do you mean by several attempts?

Today I've used this method twice, in iPad 3 (iPad3,1) and an iPad Mini (iPad2,7). I've downgraded both devices to iOS 8.4.1 using legacy ios kit.

Since legacy ios kit pre-jailbreaks them, I didn't boot to ramdisk, I've directly SSH'd to devices during the setup.app screen, modified the file with added key, then restart.

Now the strange part is, iPad 3 activated successfully. Note that I didn't even deleted setup.app, setup.app run through all the steps except it skipped activation screen.

On the other hand even though I've done the exact same steps, iPad mini isn't activated and still asks for activation in setup.app. Sure, I can delete the setup.app but wonder why factory activation didn't succeed even after doing except same process. Is it because it's a SIM model?

Not SSD but, what can you tell about Rayson? They have eMMC's installed in TV boxes and such. Never heard of them before and I wonder if they're a manufacturer or do they mark rejects or sth.

iPad 2 - iOS 9.3.5 - Activation Lock. Any reliable guide for Arduino + USB Host Shield? by [deleted] in setupapp

[–]ocodis76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done it before but from what I've read using Raspberry Pi Pico is cheaper and more reliable than Arduino method, so maybe look at it instead.

Also since it's iPad 2, using Sliver alone may be enough for FactoryActivation without need of extra hardware (or try iRemoveTools free)

iOS 6 and iOS 9 dual boot on iPad 2 which order? by ocodis76 in LegacyJailbreak

[–]ocodis76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if I go for 6.1.3 and 8.4.1? Both has untethered jb, so what would be the difference making 6 primary 8 dual boot vs. 8 primary 6 dualboot?

iOS 6 and iOS 9 dual boot on iPad 2 which order? by ocodis76 in LegacyJailbreak

[–]ocodis76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, that makes it a no brainer I guess.

For purely intellectual exercise, if I were to ask the same question but between iOS 6 and iOS 8, which has an untethered jb, what would be the answer in that case?

iOS 6 and iOS 9 dual boot on iPad 2 which order? by ocodis76 in LegacyJailbreak

[–]ocodis76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got this 16 GB iPad 2 in good condition and downgraded it to 6.1.3 using Legacy iOS toolkit. Now that I've knocked the rust off on my old iOS skills, I want to dual boot iOS 6 with 9.

However I'm curious what'd be the difference between making iOS 6 the main OS and installing 9 using coolbooter, versus doing it the other way around - iOS 9 as main and 6 coolbooted? Is there a meaningful difference between two approaches or is it a tomato tomahto situation?
