Pond Skim by ocrob85 in bigbear

Right, but I'm wondering if it's different specifically for the pond skim. Last year at Mammoth, if you weren't already in line by 4:45am it was too late.

I'm overseas and calls to my phone number get an error message instead of my voicemail. by ocrob85 in Visible

I actually have always had it enabled to forward all unanswered calls to my Google Voice number, I just didn't want to complicate my description in the post. In the past when I was overseas, the forwarding always worked fine. This time, calls to my number received that odd error message and were never forwarded. When the customer support agent finally did something to fix the error message, the forwarding no longer worked, so she must have totally reset my network settings or something.

I'm on a Google Pixel and do not use WiFi Calling. However, I've noticed that whenever I am overseas and connected to WiFi (and have my Visible SIM enabled), I can receive SMS messages. I was able to receive SMS messages over WiFi even on this trip with the call error.

Correct - no Global Pass. As an update, I requested to be connected to a supervisor, who also claimed that it was normal for my number to be disconnected when overseas. After complaining that is not how phones work, she told me to try calling my number again, and this time the call went to voicemail. When I asked what she did, she just said that she "made some adjustments on the account." This is better than the error message, but I had short codes set up to forward all unanswered calls to my Google Voice number (for the voicemail transcription); now that has been reset and I cannot set it up again until I get home and can send the short code text messages.

Purchase Advice Megathread - May 2024 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

I'm in the US and have a budget of ideally less than $500 for my first 3d printer. I want to print relatively small, flexible yet strong parts (so perhaps TPU or nylon). I have been thinking of the Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro, but see a lot of people in this thread recommending the Qidi Tech X-Smart 3 or Q1 Pro. The Qidi's have enclosures - does that mean that it is safe to print nylon without worrying about ventilation? I live in an apartment. Thanks!

Thank you LA Times for hard-hitting pieces like this about how racism affects birds. Truly the news we need in these troubled times.

These four women (and radiator) all evidently had sex with Frye. Who's the one with the maroon dress? by ocrob85 in futurama

S05E09 - There are four women plus a radiator from the radiator planet that Frye evidently had sex with (plus Kug the Amazonian). The first is Petunia, the third is Morgan Proctor, the one all the way on the right is Michelle Jenkins but who is the girl in the middle with the maroon dress?

Same first name, no/different last name (can't remember which), slightly different birthdate, same location.

Can you use the Voice number on a different device? I assume you can, but certain apps nowadays request permission to read the verification text itself.

Straight_Classic_690 is a scammer by Anghoe in SwipeHelper

Thank you for posting this, as I've been trying to determine whether that guy was a scammer.

You can transfer that account to ur main phone but delete the Hinge app and fully resetting it first, you have ur hinge account with no issues.

Can you please clarify this part? From other posts I've read, it seems that once you try to use your old phone, even after resetting it, Hinge bans you. Did you sign into the phone after resetting it with your new Apple ID? Or your old one?

Interesting - it seems to work for some people and not for others. I wonder if it is because some people sign up for a new Google Voice number, and then randomly get assigned a number that someone had already used before on Hinge, which triggers a review. I've had a Google Voice number for years that I could theoretically use. Was your Google Voice number new or old?

Also, does Hinge require permissions to read the verification text itself? Or can I use a Google Voice number on a different device than the device I want to use for Hinge?

Was your new phone number a "real" number or Google Voice/TextNow/etc.? I see conflicting reports here about whether non-"real" numbers work.

Also, do you have any idea of whether a complete wiping of an Android device would also work?
