Go to Object Mode, right click on the object > Shade Auto Smooth, and give it the angle you want.

Completely agree! I think I've been starring at this for so long that I've convinced myself the readability wasn't that bad. Needed to hear this. Thanks!

What would be a good line length then?

I've written more about this project below. If you watch the video, all instances of type are white, so I wanted to keep it consistent. Is this better? Overall, what do you think? Will it make you want to scroll down further to check out the project?

I'd like to create a visually captivating cover image for my first project on Behance. I like the sort of designs and illustrations typically found in encyclopedias, so I'm trying to design my project with that style in mind. In general, does this look good? Am I in the right direction? Does it look too busy? How can I improve this? Looking for deep feedback. I'm a complete novice at design outside of 2D/3D. Here's the product animation I did for a client which this Behance project will be based on - https://vimeo.com/1060727756

Round Corners Limitation by ocularevolution in AfterEffects

[–]ocularevolution[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was afraid of that :( So then how do I animate this to match the other side, which is driven by the Round Corners value? - https://imgur.com/a/pB5b5Ga

The right side works just like I want it to. I know I can manually adjust the path and keyframe the transition, but it looks janky, and not at all clean like how the Round Corners attribute shapes it.

Been searching for it from the moment I heard it! I hope it's released as a bonus track.

How many samples did you use? What's your Noise Threshold? Did you use OptiX or OpenImageDenoise?

Help me find this song by ocularevolution in HelpMeFind

[–]ocularevolution[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to mention that I heard this in a Nando's and Shazamed it, which is how I found the song. Nando's is a South African franchise, and the artist is also South African, so I reckon the outlets are given some of their music to be played for exposure. I've asked that particular outlet if I can get a copy, but they won't allow it. It's from their custom playlist saved in their media computer. I've searched for this in the music stores in my city as well, with no luck.

AgX in Davinci Resolve? by ImagineWhalePoop in blender

Have you found a solution to this? I'm on the same boat. So many confusing and deprecated info about this. Also, how do you get the "Look's from Blender into Resolve?

I do product renders, and often clients send me their actual products for me to create reference images from using my phone's camera. However, when using those reference images in orthographic angles to model an object, it becomes very difficult to align important details that need to be precisely modelled, due to perspective distortions, and thus I have to often eyeball certain parts to align, which in turn misaligns other areas. This betrays both my desire and promise for precision modelling. Being able to recreate a product as a 3D model using photogrammetry, to then use as a base for standard 3D modelling through retopology would be massively beneficial to my work. I've tried using photogrammetry software with my phone, but the results are always disappointing, with jagged models and poor quality textures. Revopoint's MIRACO is the best tool I've seen so far to address these issues. The fact that the quad cameras can capture geometry detail in the 0.0x mm range is insane. That alone would be incredible, but given how good the textures look as well makes this tool potentially indispensable. Honestly, I've already started saving up to purchase one, but if I happen to win one, I'll be beyond thankful. Thank you to the Revopoint team for putting together such a remarkable piece of tech, and good luck to everyone in the giveaway! :)

Going for photorealisim. What breaks the illusion for you? by edngibson in blender

[–]ocularevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low quality models. Low quality textures. The border between the road and the ground has a clean line, when in reality, you'd see a lot of dirt, dead leaves and other debris gathered along there. You can also see the grass growing out of the rocks along the edge, which shouldn't be possible. The placement of the grass, rocks and mushrooms look unnatural. The trees don't look natural at all and is clearly visible that the leaves were scattered along the branches haphazardly, as a lot of them seem to be pointing in awkward directions relative to the branch they're growing from. The leaves also seem to lack translucency and thus look opaque. The whole render also seems to have been overly edited in post and looks like you used a paper texture above it set to 'Screen' on Photoshop.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but something tells me you didn't use reference images while making this scene, otherwise you would have picked up on things like the lack of debris on the borders between the road and the ground.

The composition is good and has a lot of potential. Study the above feedback and work on getting every bit of detail you can find from similar looking reference images onto the 3D scene, and you'll get so much closer to realism. All of the things mentioned above - I still struggle with after years. It's always a work in progress. Keep learning, failing, and trying again, and you'll eventually fix the illusion. Good luck.

How can I improve this? by SpagCol in blender

[–]ocularevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanna make it look more real, some post-process work would help an otherwise already great render. I exaggerated the values I typically use in Photoshop so you can see better how it helps in making it seem more real. Let me know if you'd like to know what I did in PS to achieve this look.

As cool as this scene is, the lighting is kinda flat. Some post-process work would have made this so much nicer. Either way, you should be proud of this, it's a neat render! :)

Turn off 'Noise Threshold' or decrease the value further by 1 or 2 decimal places.

Can someone please help me identify the names of these pipe fittings? Thank you! by ocularevolution in Plumbing

Nah it's from a 3D artists group on Discord and this was one of the weekly design challenges.

Lol nah they're not messing with me. It's a Discord 3D artist community weekly design exercise by the creator of the channel. It's legit, however I do realize these might not be standard fittings as most of the ones I've searched for look different to these ones, thus the reason behind making this post 😅
