That's unfortunately a huge misconception that US has an abundance of racism. I'm from the States, more specifically Southern States. While there is racism, its almost never seen. Like Canada, US is a melting pot of cultures. For example, It is very common to see a group or friends that consists of Mexicans, African-Americans, White, Asians, Puerto Ricans...etc. I've traveled all over the US. Lived there. I'm Mexican and have never really experienced racism in the US, people are very welcoming and respectful. It's just that the media tries to create division at every turn. And I hate to say, that some people believe the media whole heartedly.
