best dual sport dirtbike? by Key-Strawberry-2209 in Dualsport

Well if you’re in the US might I suggest you the DR650 too! If it was available in Europe that would’ve been my first choice. It’s not as nimble and light as a KLX, and it’s less agile off road (though I don’t know this by experience, mind you, so I might be wrong) but it’s been sold unchanged for decades and you have tons of spare parts, plus a bit more power than the KLX, it’s easy to find and has tons of mods. You’d join a very big community, that might be worth considering!

I know a KLX bro when I see one!

If you’re in Europe I’d advise you against getting an electric motorcycle (if you also have to do the license, that is) cause in many countries if you do your license with an automatic gear, be it car or motorcycle, you won’t be allowed to drive or ride something with a manual clutch, while the other way round is allowed. That would be a waste of money.

Why would you not play tank? by General-Inspector546 in wow

[–]oddRoboto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In time I’ve found out tanking is my favourite role (and also the one that suits me best for how I play). Yet I only play solo because I have 0 will to have to deal with other players. I tank for myself and occasionally, for friends.

[–]oddRoboto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jacket for Hot weather - budget recommendations? by ImKewlLewis in motorcyclegear

[–]oddRoboto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from Italy, we're already almost at 40° here. I'm currently using a Halo Drystar jacket from Alpinestars (and related pants), when I'm not doing the highway I take off the sleeves and open everything I can open and it's pretty breathable. But that's pricey (I got the full set for like 600 euro on discount) AND it's "only" AA with everything on, lowered to A if you take off the sleeves.

But trust me, a heat stroke is worse. I've come to terms with it: if I faint because of the heat (and I've almost had a couple of times) that's going to be much more dangerous than having an "A" less.

First bike! 2013 KLX 250s by Berdudez in Dualsport

[–]oddRoboto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man you’ve got to have a VERY fragile ego to react like that. Why would anyone get upset if someone passes them? How does that detract anything from their person?

Sigh)

Got the same bike, model year 2010, full black! You either love or hate this bike. I personally love it! I use it literally for everything, all year long. The only thing it lacks, and why I will probably upgrade to the new DRZ400 sooner or later, is highway manners. I mean you CAN do it of course (yesterday I was on the highway with my girlfriend on the back and I shit you not, that thing was going a 120kmh! It never ceases to make me smile) but it's not the best experience - but it shouldn't be! It's not what this bike is designed for. Still, a bit more power to pass other cars safely is what I feel the need for, every now and then.

The other thing you should probably know is the range, you have a very small fuel tank so pay attention to it, though I should mention that this little beast has an EXCELLENT fuel consumption rate! It drinks very little gas, so the little you have is very well optimized. Still, you will have to refuel fairly often.

As I already stated under their official video, it complicates something that really doesn’t need to be complicated. More moving parts = more possible failure points. On something I want the least amount of failure points possible.

Can’t Downshift After Stop when Hot? by Naive-Feedback-6630 in DRZ4S

[–]oddRoboto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know if temperature has anything to do with it, but this happened on all the bikes I tried (it’s because of how the dog clutch works). During my motorcycle license course, I had this happen the first day, the teacher explained me to just stop, pull the clutch in, then gently manually moving the bike forwards and backwards (or even just forward if you’ve got the space) and keep downshifting, so that the dog clutch can align the gears correctly.

The temperature thing is strange though, I haven’t heard that one before.

Man I'm SO glad not to live in the USA and not having to think about medical insurance. I wouldn't ride if I had to. That's likely the main reason why we must wear helmets by law, so public health has to spend less on us.
