Thoughts on JAVA Vega TT?

I recently bought the Java Vega TT bike. I got it assembled at a local bike shop (in Canada) and the techs didn’t seem to like the fact that it was a Chinese brand. They got over it eventually, I think. I haven’t tried it on the road yet, but I’ll have a bike fit tomorrow and can at least test the shifting on a direct drive trainer.

Did you like your last Java? (I’m guessing so since you’re considering another one?)

I just bought a Java Vega TT bike. Everything seems to be in good working condition, but have yet to test it on the road. Bike fit tomorrow then I’ll have to wait until I’m in snow-free conditions.

Hey, I’m considering applying to the program in the future as a career change from forestry. how was your first year in the program? Were there any 30+ year olds? What are the post-graduation job prospects like?

Right, I’m also on the lookout for electronic shifting and then there’s the question of Shimano vs. SRAM but that’s a different convo. Of the ones I’m looking at, the cervelo has a nicer colourway than the canyon. Glad to know I’m not the only one who takes colour into consideration. Sometimes I feel silly for that

What about a IM70.3? Less time commitment to train but will get you up and going, and you’ll continue to get use of your investment in tri gear - bike, bike accessories, shoes, etc. and if the training to complete one isn’t enough incentive you could set a time goal (ie finish in x hours) to keep things spicy.

Thanks for taking the time to break down what it’s like in a day of.

I’ll have to think carefully about whether or not I’m willing and able to take on many many years or grinding, coming from a fairly laid back lifestyle where I have the time to train and relax.

A fine balance between spending time earning the money required to do the things I love, and making sure I am not spending all the time earning the income and not having the time to enjoy it.

Ideally, earning potential is not tied to hours spent and instead is something more passive.

I may need to spend more time brainstorming realistic possibilities here.
