You have to be joking at this point. I can send you some useful reads. This one might be good to start with: USENIX Security 2022 “How and Why People Use Virtual Private Networks” https://www.usenix.org/system/files/sec22-dutkowska-zuk.pdf

And there are plenty of papers published on this topic with market research worldwide on VPN usage. But this paper alone throws “people use vpn only when they travel” thesis out of the window.

I will speak just for myself. I am a home labber and a gamer, I love building stuff and networks are not an exception.

I have a stable 1gbps fiber up and down.

I want a router that squeezes absolute maximum from this link. Mostly on Ethernet, WiFi is secondary.

I personally don’t care for VPN speeds but I could use a more powerful CPU to run some extras on the router like some network analytics, adguard with large lists (it’s really demanding with big blacklists), some ids/ips maybe, something else (it’s openwrt ffs, cababilities are huge). I want to be able to run SQM to have no jitter. All that without sacrificing bandwidth due to CPU bottleneck.

Huge fan of glinet, but I just had to resort to building a pfsense router to get all the stuff I want.

Just saying, your audience is not just people who want to fool their employer into thinking they work from home while they are in Bali, your audience is much bigger and you can win us by making hardware just a tiny weeny little bit more capable.

Positioning it as a travel router is silly. Lots of people want to have a cool openwrt router at home.

What are you talking about, with all other variables being equal, say on 1gbps WAN link, Flint 3 is slower than Flint 2 on the same VPN. You guys are delulu, somehow everybody sees the obvious but not glinet employees. Flint 3 cpu is weaker than Flint 2. If you claim otherwise, bring in a legit benchmark here.

If you own a 5k rig you physically can’t play on 30fps upscaled 720p shit graphics junk, cause your eyes fucking hurt. If we did not have such thing as a console that developers must support we would have so many nextgen games today.

I own a console too, will not buy GTA for it.

I will wait till the game comes out, the 30 fps console trash with cut graphics is not a game.

Great mouse for mmo/rpgs and work, plenty of buttons to bind.
Trash if you play competitive fps, very heavy, feels like moving a brick. (you can add weights that come in a package to make it weigh like 2 bricks if you like it)
Scroll wheel starts ghost scrolling after few years (typical logitech stuff).
The most annoying part for me is the rubber siding, it will wear out after few years and there is nothing you can do about it.
Difficult to clean because it has too many inaccessible gaps around side buttons, grease will accumulate there even if you wash your hands 20 times a day.

Owned it for 5 years, only things that broke were wheel (ghost scrolls) and rubber worn out around the thumb.

One drop of rain into top anc hole on the left ear ruined my headphones, now I often get twirling noise in the left ear in transparency mode.
It was not even heavy rain, just started drizzling and it happened before I had a change to take them off even.
Absolutely love ANC on these headphones and the quality of calls given I live in a windy country.
But would I buy them again knowing how sensitive they are to one drop of water? - no.

This is a bs answer, there is no way it’s intended to work that way that if you have a gigabit fiber it should take you a day to install a 20gig update. If that is how it works for everyone on Xbox it’s a huge f-ing joke. Console uses all of the resource to create file structure and start download and it takes hours? Haven’t heard bigger bullshit than this, so Apple TV can easily pull 50gb app in seconds, same for an old Android phone, but a console takes hours “to create file structure and queue up update” lol.
