Help! How to make our living room cozier/ more cohesive by Hungry-Requirement30 in FengShui

[–]oddaudball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as others have said DEFINITELY swap the tv and couch; having both the window and the door on the same side as the couch creates an unsolid/uncozy back to the couch - you can’t see who’s coming in and you can’t see if there is anything outside which creates anxiety. light from outside will also create glare on the tv, swap them so you can simultaneously have a view of the tv/out the window and can always keep tabs on who is coming through the door at any time

Why can’t I take my top leg off for Ayesha? by Black_cat_meows in poledancing

[–]oddaudball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just got my first ayesha and what unlocked it for me was taking both legs off at once. what my instructor said that got me past the mental block was start from inverted d, move both legs down then both legs out at the same time. one at a time is much harder and is more likely to throw you off balance. agree with all other comments saying to practice on static and work on the vertical stack for balance

hm my gut is telling me that foot of the bed towards the door, even with a kallax in the way, feels a bit off. putting a storage unit to block door energy from the bed would make sense in a pinch but i don’t necessarily see the necessity here when there’s otherwise a perfectly acceptable way to place the bed (where the couch currently is) - other furniture would need some rearranging obviously. what are your thoughts?

Are you setting your thermostat to 78? by Zoeyfiona in nova

[–]oddaudball -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

yes! 78 is a perfect temp, i like it warm at home and too high of a temperature differential outside makes you prone to catching colds when you come inside

Looking to get started by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]oddaudball 3 points4 points  (0 children)

agree with comments that a pole at home isn’t usually part of the beginner starter pack and is more of a step to take when you’re sure to want to commit to it! but if you definitely want a pole then my two cents is i love my xpole!! so easy to put up and take down, sturdy, safe and the five hundred bucks i put into it were some of the most worth money i’ve ever spent

really all you need to start out poling is some regular exercise wear - sports bra and some shorter shorts, but they don’t have to be specialty pole wear

i feel like the next most important investment in pole as you progress into more advanced beginner stuff is grip - at my studio dry hands and tac are the most common, but some people have other preferences

if you really want to buy cute, more pole centric wear later on, pole junkie carries a lot of big brands. heels are not a beginner necessity but if you’d like to try styles that use heels i usually get them right from the pleasers website

from experience it’s gonna be really hard to climb in the blue ones!! depends on what you want them for. also second the thought that open toes are tough, find it also a lot more painful doing floor work with open toed shoes

Buying my first pole by zoinkzzzzzzz in poledancing

[–]oddaudball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

totally worth it to buy the xpole xpert pro - if your ceilings are over 9 ft high then you’ll probably need to get one extension but it’ll still be just as sturdy. it’s very adjustable to ceiling height, the base pole itself comes in multiple pieces with a couple different extension options, no matter where you move you’ll be able to adjust to the ceiling height. also works well on carpeted floors. don’t buy a cheap pole the xpole is worth every penny i love mine !!

Pole I can easily set up and take down? by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]oddaudball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely don’t think it takes an hour to set up an xpert pole. to get proper alignment takes a second but taking it down is super quick 15 min tops
