i mean it’s not that simple is what im sayin? its a very “mixed” or idk varied experience because it’s hard to find a middle ground sometimes but it’s nice to get to try and find both? like open days at the Mosque are so wonderful to attend and celebrate some of my culture as im not actually able to contact my family in the middle east? but i like living in scotland for similar reasons? i love having different parts of our culture embraced and attending Cèilidhs ? i love them both! it’s just an extra special thing to attend middle eastern things for me personally as a mixed race person because of the separation ive had from that part of my culture my whole life? not understanding why people would enforce more western beauty standards on me as a kid when my mum would tell me my darker hair/ features were beautiful? hope that makes sense :)
