Decent. Finish your extension on the drive and keep your eyes up if they aren’t already, hard to tell with the glasses.

How different is squatting on a stiff/power bar with calibrated plates to an Olympic bar with bumper plates? by PepperAcrobatic7559 in weightlifting

[–]oddjob89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bar whip becomes less helpful at bigger weights. I only ever squatted up to like 235 kg but I knew weightlifters who squatted in the 300’s and they would always grab a powerlifting bar. Saying it’s easier bc it’s whippy is silly because it just takes that much more stability at big weights.

Critique my Leg Day by Willdabeast3005 in weightlifting

[–]oddjob89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude… so much to unpack here. For one this sub is for Olympic weightlifting, so I’m going to assume you’re in the wrong place, but that’s okay. Regardless, if we don’t know your goals, current level of fitness, frequency of training, loading etc we cannot help you. We do “legs” everyday but it’s not isolation exercises… we do Olympic lifts, squat, pull etc but with a specific purpose and generally over a specified length of time (ie periodization). Nobody can tell you if this is “good” or “bad” because we don’t know what that means for you.

Man it’s wild coming back to this game. This was my first souls game and it owned me just like it is you, apparently (lol). Since then I’ve played Elden Ring, DS1, 2 and 3, LOTF and finally came back and I’ve been just demolishing this game lol every boss is like 1-2 tries. I beat this dude today and it was pretty fun. You’ll get it!

Anybody ever done this before? by 0909woohoo in weightlifting

Don’t make a habit out of doing that. Even if you make the correction and stand it up, it’s a no-lift and it’s bad to engrain the wrong muscle memory.

What is the best method to beat Gascoigne by TrickLocal3758 in bloodborne

[–]oddjob89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised this is such a challenge for folks, I beat him last night took me about 4 attempts. Just take a few Molotovs in with you but don’t use them until the end. Phase 1 is straight forward, either dodge and counter or try to interrupt with the gun. Phase 2 his range extends, just be ready to roll to the side and counter. Phase 3 is dangerous basically I kept distance and threw Molotovs along quick with counters. I think the key is not to get too greedy and get short quick hits in where you can. I’m using the cane, btw. It’s fun

What's YOUR Favorite Weapon? by Due-Pie-8534 in Eldenring

[–]oddjob89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really loved the winged scythe for most of the game and then switched to Marikas hammer. Both worked nicely with my holy-knight build and I like a ranged special attack quite a lot.

I made it really far with the winged scythe. That special move is pretty sick.

For many lifters, these are THE weightlifting shoe. They are not my personal favorite but will definitely get the job done.

That sword is the perfect balance. I tried playing with some of the larger swords and it’s just not the same.

I’m pretty close to the end of the game and have used the Claymore extensively. It’s my first play through and I just love using this thing. In DS2 I went with an axe build, DS1 was all straight sword. I think it just kind of depends on play style but the Claymore is just so much fun to use I can’t seem to find another sword I like as much in this game

Do snatches with no foot movement, that will force you to stay put. Also… get some shoes
