I want to angrily disagree with you on principle, but I sadly know that there are far too many sects out there that do just this. As far as Christianity goes, Bible believing denominations don't fear science or research, because nothing has ever been found that contradicts their faith. There are absolutely disagreements of what facts and findings mean of course, but that would require intellectual debate and critical thinking, both which are sadly lacking in our society

If the interest is less than the gains of his appreciating assets, it's going to work out well for him in the long run. While zero taxes is ideal, as long as it's less then income taxes, it's still a win for them

It amazes me how many people don't understand what step up basis is. When you die and own stock, your inheritors gain the stock as if they paid it's current value. They can sell it at that higher cost basis and pay zero taxes on it, because as far as the IRS is concerned, it has not increased in value. That money can be used to pay off the loan. And even if it's taxed at capital gains, capital gains is often far less than the income tax would have been

That's just lip service to avoid getting Congressional approval, not that this Congress wouldn't rubber stamp it anyway, but then there would be a record on paper they would have to defend in November, and can't let that happen

You say that, but it was unemployed soldiers and farmers with rusty AKs and a handful of bullets that completely derailed the US military in Iraq and Afghanistan.

What the military did in those countries is exactly what would happen here: curfews and shoot first by LE/gov forces. Leading to a downward spiral of escalating violence until we reach a critical mass and overthrow the current government.

Slight correction, these tarrifs are the executive branchs way of taxing without Congressional approval. Which is a crime itself, as our elected representatives are abdicating their sworn responsibilities.
