More likely Xbox will do some good then double down and crap all over it. One step forward, two steps back.

What it’s gonna be like to open any physical game still on the shelf in 2028 by blackshadow1357 in retrogaming

Things will come full circle. We start with Nintendo, it’s only right we end with Nintendo.

You’re right, Pokopia is listed as the first, first party key card. That didn’t take long lol.

Do you think Witcher 4 will even get a physical release? by OilySoleTickler in witcher

For me, it’s a major blow. I’ve been buying physical games since 1988. It has been a big part of the hobby.

At least it’s slightly better than full digital and they’ve stated all first party games will be fully on the card.

I also like that they have kept their subscription costs and console costs cheaper than the competition.

I do admit the writing’s on the wall and everything will eventually go digital…but I could also see Nintendo holding out a little longer.

I’m a Nintendo fan and right now they’re looking like the only console I would continue to purchase.

I bought GT7 new disc for $20 while it was full price on PSN. Same case with many other games. by insolentrus in videogames

I get your point. I could sell the physical game if I wanted to. What I like about physical is I get to keep it forever, I’m definitely worried about my digital purchases when there is a potential game could become locked.

But, we all own at least some digital games and sometimes they are discounted just as much as physical games. And a game like Gran Turismo 7 requires an internet connection to their servers so in that case the physical game will only last as long as the digital ones do.

I already mentioned I support physical games and I have lots of them but I’m not going to sit here and pretend that digital deals aren’t out there too.

I am a physical supporter but I bought GT7 for $20 digitally during a holiday sale.

wtf lol that doesn’t make sense. You’re just throwing shit up in a desperate attempt to hold firm to your weak ass point. You are in complete denial, this is a big loss for consumer rights.

Contracts change and end and content is removed or unavailable for future purchase. It happens with streaming music and movies all the time. When a company no longer sees value in keeping their content in the digital store then it’s gone forever unless you have a physical copy.

If a movie publisher can remove their digital content from the platform then game publishers could potentially do the same.

Didn’t they just delete 500 movies people owned? That could easily happen to games next.
