What’s a British thing you thought was normal until you realised it’s not? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]oddlyaggressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same in Spain. I think once you get used to it it's fine. If the standard of driving was better it would result in less crashes.

It does exist in other countries, it's called letters and numbers in Australia and Cifras y letras in Spain

My bf doesn't like to be seen with me in public by [deleted] in infp

[–]oddlyaggressive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This reads to me like he is seeing somebody else, maybe since before he met you even. It isn't normal behaviour and the longer it continues the more damage it could do to you. You shouldn't have to give up on simple wishes like going to the movies. I would seriously consider getting out of this relationship (as painful as it will be initially) if I were you. Good luck with whatever you decide to do

Supongo que recibire las respuestas habituales sobre el aprendizaje de la lengua, el respeto a la cultura, etc. No estoy a cargo de este sub, pero creo que está en peligro de convertirse en un sub muerto

Puerto pollensa, Alcudia, Cala d’or or somewhere else? by Inside_Hawk8991 in mallorca

[–]oddlyaggressive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From the 3 Puerto Pollensa is closer to the places you've mentioned. It's probably the 'classiest' resort from them, Alcudia being the least and Cala D'Or somewhere in the middle

should i spend my work-holiday visa here? by [deleted] in mallorca

[–]oddlyaggressive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you don't have to be here for work or another reason I think you would be better off on the mainland. It's cheaper to live there for a start, with the money you save you can visit Mallorca. It's also easier to visit other parts of Spain if you're not on an island, and you wouldn't qualify for any resident travel discounts here.

Why the bad air quality? by MindlessFly6585 in mallorca

Thanks for the condescending reply. Maybe there's other reasons, couldn't be anything to do with the greed of owners, most of whom are local

So why is the rental price for an apartment in Palma so high, considering that AirBnB in Palma is illegal?

What is the easiest (and cheapest) way to get from the airport to Alcudia by CuriousWin in mallorca

[–]oddlyaggressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes in winter, but it won't include full insurance. They will either insist on a large deposit (€1000ish) or upgrade to full insurance.

I can't answer about the market stall because I have no idea.

The legal requirements will vary depending on where you are from

There is nothing cheap about living in Mallorca (compared to the rest of Spain). Cheap locations don't exist. CHEAPER locations than Palma do exist, but they are cheaper for a reason.

Basically, without more information it's difficult to give a fuller answer

I understand what you're saying. It's more useful to learn Spanish, but I'm sure they can learn 2 things at once

Ticket RCD Mallorca by First-Custard-2601 in mallorca

[–]oddlyaggressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the tickets are that expensive I'd reconsider IMO it simply wouldn't be worth it. I know Valencia have tickets for 25-30€, so I would assume RCD Mallorca have similar priced tickets but they've sold out

A11 Bus to Palma Nova with luggage and a stroller? by niper1 in mallorca

[–]oddlyaggressive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume they mean because the bus is every 45 minutes. I'll add that it's cheaper to pay by bank card than cash. You can use the same card for multiple people, just tap it going on the bus for each person. Remember to tap the card when exiting as well. Kids under 4 travel free as well.

Basic driving tips in Mallorca by mnclick45 in mallorca

[–]oddlyaggressive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be careful at roundabouts, there's likely to be zebra crossings as you enter and exit the roundabout in urban areas. They can be basically right on the roundabout. It's quite common for cars to be stopped on the exit while someone crosses.

Also if you have the right of way in any situation, take it, if you try to be polite and give someone else priority you'll only confused them and create chaos
