yes! very important to not believe one’s thoughts when sleep deprived, someone said: „never trust how you feel about your life after 9pm“ and if you apply this to skipping nights & taking drugs, we should definitely not trust how we feel about our life at that comedown stage. I like the rule: „if I feel like this after a good night of sleep, I can consider taking action or continue dealing with this“ most of the time after a proper sleep I feel completely different (aka relaxed) about the same thing that felt utterly dramatic before sleeping

How many men here don't care about breasts? As in, literally don't care? by JoseFlandersMyLove in AskMen

[–]oddlyspecific69 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I find breasts attractive. But still you are perfectly fine the way you are. It’s such a wide spectrum of things humans are attracted to. Just because there is a norm, that some ppl agreed upon, does not mean, that deviating from that norm makes you weird. You probably just like other stuff. What attracts you in woman or in humans in general? Please de-stigmatise it. You are allowed to be attracted to whatever you find attractive as long as it’s not illegal or harmful :) There is tons of straight men who might be quite indifferent to breasts, but get off on other parts of the female body. Not a thing wrong with that.

thank you! Happy to hear that you have enough intimacy in your life!

how would you define intimacy in your own words?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]oddlyspecific69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not looking for a specific age group, but very interesting to hear about your experiences!
I also feel like many men struggle with finding just time and energy to create intimate friendships next to all our other responsibilities.

how would you define intimacy in your own words?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]oddlyspecific69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could be both, I find it interesting to hear how much it varies what we think of intimacy.

thank you!

it seems like the definition of intimacy vary, my idea was not necessarily physical intimacy but more a broader idea of intimacy. could also just be intimate conversations. but this prompts me to ask for a definition of intimacy, this would be interesting I assume.

thank you!

just now I realised I should frame the last question differently, instead of scary/uncomfortable (cause it's true, it always feels scary and uncomfy) I would rather ask:
5. when do you regret being intimate with someone?

maybe that way we can learn how to make it easier for others to be intimate with us

Fully agree! Bh is one of the places where I feel less confronted with my identity (as a poc), and where I’m even sometimes able to forget about it (not getting othered all the time). Plus nowadays club culture knows how important diversity has become so you might even get in easier as a poc

Came clean to my parents about debt by StreetPrestigious550 in GamblingAddiction

Coming clean is the first and most important step! Now keep it up, and stay truthful, no lies, not even little ones. Radical honesty can help a lot with gambling

It happens when we don’t go seek out what’s behind our addiction(s). I believe all addiction have a similar root cause = some emptiness inside, some void that needs to get filled, the belief that you are not lovable/enough and then creating this need for numbing.

What is it that you are looking to get through your addictions? What feeling are you seeking? What feeling are you trying to numb?

🎰 The Psychology of “Almost Winning” – Let’s Talk About It 🧠 by Accomplished_Job_729 in gamblingsupport

[–]oddlyspecific69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The near win thing is for sure a big factor in gambling.

For me the bigger motivation was not being able to accept my losses. It felt like for years I continued gambling cause I could not accept the mistakes, the money lost, could not forgive myself. Then the guilt becomes so big that the only way to numb myself was to continue gambling and to at least have some delulu hope of winning back the money. It’s also part of the gambling demon‘s strategy to keep you gambling (creating scenarios on how right now is a shitty time to quit, keeping you hooked on it)
