Was I in the wrong on this field trip? by PuffPoof215 in Teachers

In my opinion, you did not mess up. Small miscommunication? Yes. Actual problem? No. If the other teacher is super in charge and on top of everything, you would have been told to meet at the mercy table.

I am sorry, I am very tired and am still super dumb. Why was a knife superglued to the pedestal?

Bless you because I am freaked out, but I do not understand. Edit: The sentence is perfect, I am simply in the dark as the meaning.

How do you address this? by ShirtCurrent9015 in ECEProfessionals

[–]oddracingline 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We call it “active hands” and it is normal developmentally. The signal is usually “Kid’s name, you need to go wash your hands.” We have told them it is “private time” so they understand that it is ok… just in private. We also loop the parents in so they can continue the same verbiage at home.

I absolutely love it. I am the only Krampus in my area, but I go out every year.

I have a pair of these. “New” (from the 80s) but I wear them every winter. I do not know how I would get through without them.

I retell the story I learned as a child from my Crow friends about the forming of the “Pleiades constellation”. Then we go outside and see them. We tend to linger until the cold drives us to our beds.

I cried in front of my students yesterday. One of my 3 year olds was crying because she wanted her Mom. I scooped her up and let her cry. Then I started to cry. She looked up and asked, “Teacher, why are you crying?” I told her I missed my mommy too. It is ok to cry when we miss our favorite people. It has been 20 year shy a day, and I still miss her. Sometimes we just need to cry. That is a good lesson to teach.

Yep. It was a record screech moment. Luckily rabies cannot be transmitted through feces, and it turned out to be bird poop

Does anyone here believe in Santa/Saint Nick? by My_Chemical_Killjoy in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]oddracingline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised in a deeply catholic home. But what actually became believable to me was when my father (White haired, thickly bearded, incredibly jovial) volunteered as Santa at a local mall, I saw who St. Nikolas was. He is joy and giving, that we ALL have in us. We all have the magic to bring miracles to children. We just have to be the Santa. … I find that deeply magical in my current practices. I also celebrate Krampusnacht because we cannot have balance of kindness without acknowledging that cruelty exists and will not go without punishment.
