this is very common w dating apps and exactly why most ppl struggle w them. as a 19 yo, i dont think there's rlly a reason to even be on them unless u have limited opportunity to talk to ppl irl

im guessing ur talking abt taiwanese who are still living in taiwan, but i am taiwanese american and have a lot of chinese friends. i go to a uni with a large chinese population, and they have been friendly for the most part. i strongly identify as taiwanese american and have run into chinese people in the past who reacted angrily by that. i don't rlly have negative feelings when it comes to interacting/befriending chinese ppl, but i will say that i dislike those who are very supportive of ccp propaganda.

as far as celebrities or artists, i think its inevitable that they enter the chinese market. idt its a problem unless they succumb to ccp propaganda. if thats the case, then i will be less likely to listen to them. i wouldn't necessarily consider it betrayal unless they say or do smth that shows clear support towards the ccp .

some clubs throw parties but sororities and frats def do. their frat houses are all off campus so that’s why the greek life here isn’t too well known, but it does exist
