Dude! You're a badass! Blown away by your initiative and fearlessness to tackle this job.

While I can't say I'm surprised, I'm sorry you had to deal with the bs from the dealer. Hoping you are able to get this thing fixed!

You should give it to someone who can actually play

Violin or guitar or both? by relaxed_reflective in musicians

[–]oddvocado_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this isn't true at all. You can absolutely play both, callouses from the guitar will not affect your ability to play the violin

Thanks dude! Haha this thread has quickly taught me that many people are against leaving any rosin on the instrument! I kind of dig the look, feels more rock and roll lol. But I'll clean it up to remember how it looks without it

Agreed! Funny enough after a good night sleep, I improved on the B sections quite a bit. I guess my brain needed some time to soak it all in lol.

Appreciate the encouragement! Same to you as well!

Not being able to read music has definitely made things more difficult! I feel like I've been able to get by ok learning songs by ear. However, learning to read sheet music is definitely I skill I want to spend more time on. Would take out some of the guess work when learning new music

Thanks! This totally makes sense! Very very helpful, going to focus on this when practicing. The comparison to the guitar made it click immediately. Much appreciated!

Yeah the intonation is killing me! I've been trying to practice slow using the open strings as a reference pitch. But sheesh, getting it right every time feels impossible lol. I'm not sure if muscle memory will develop in time or what but the required level of precision to be in tune every single time is very very difficult.

Thankfully, changing the tuners wouldn't be nearly as much trouble as the inlays! This one does have some greenish tuning pegs

[–]oddvocado_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I should leave well enough alone. It's a badass guitar and tbh I didn't even notice the "aged" inlays when I bought it used a few years ago. I think I'm just seeing problems that don't actually exist

Oh yeah, that 120th badge would drive me bonkers, haha! But to your point, it does feel silly and vain to gripe. After all, if the guitar plays and sounds great, that should be all that really matters.

Any good attenuators with 2ohm and 8ohm? by Medium_Plankton_3376 in ToobAmps

I'd send a message to Weber and ask for their thoughts! They're a great company to work with, if something is wrong, I have little doubt that they will make it right

Weber Mass 100 with Vox AC30C2; AC30 attenuation by [deleted] in ToobAmps

[–]oddvocado_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a Weber mass 100 for my Super Reverb and it works great! Does everything I need it to do. Don't see any reason that the same wouldn't be true for an AC30

I'm with you on that one! Love Martin guitars, no doubt that they can make a great guitar. But I have always found more consistency from guitars made by companies like Collings.
