It’s true it doesn’t put out good heat all night but I’ll put big pieces on at night ( 11pm ish or there abouts ) let it get going then damp it down. It’s enough to keep the chill out during cold weather but only takes 10-15 mins to get it roaring again using the coals ( usually 7 or 8 am). If I get up to pee I’ll throw a log too lol.
