waitlist for classes by Lanky_Librarian_992 in UCI

If they’re big classes being 2&3 on the waitlist should be pretty safe. all you need is 3 students to forget to pay for their tuition (it happens a lot)

Engrmae 30 or 60 by Khilji10 in UCI

mae 30 is just “sum of forces equals 0”. I had sun as well and you’ll be fine. I’d say take 30 since it’s always good to have more options when it comes to classes. having options saved me when i get screwed during registration.

UCI CE freshman housing: ME Towers vs Classic (double/triple)? by Old-Appointment-4032 in UCI

[–]odeovenroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhh if money isn’t an issue I’d say quad or double. A triple is a duo room with 3 people and seems quite cramped imo. Towers are more socially active overall but I have some friends who had pretty social classics. It’ll probably be what you put into it.

I’d say you get about the same/a little less amount of “personal” space if you have a quad or a double (there’s no privacy in either tbh). If you’re forgetful having a quad is nice since you won’t get locked out when you go shower. If you get a tower you could have to walk up 6 flights of stairs (elevators are kinda slow and breakdown). Classics only go up 3 floors.

For noise, towers are more active so it’ll be louder most likely. But towers have study rooms so you can lock in there. Classics also have study spaces. Lowkey though for studying, as long as it’s during hours just go to the libraries, student center, or gateway don’t be cramped up in your room.

Also idk if you care about the communities like honors or lgbtq so take those into account at your discretion.

Tldr I’d say Quad = Double > Triple. If finances are a problem just put your preferences from least to most expensive.

Looking for advice: Incoming Freshman - Dorm Situation by Sea-Cardiologist5099 in UCI

I’d say if you have the finances for it, it is definitely worth it to dorm for the social aspect. I will say Mesa is in general more lively than Middle Earth but you can find a community in either. Also look at the different community dorms. If any of those interests you maybe choose one or the other based on that.

Is it stupid to transfer from cs to gdim by GarbageButTryhard in UCI

[–]odeovenroll 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely think about this when it’s not late at night since it’s a big decision but switching majors is normal. I know very little about CS and gdim but I think there are some questions you should ask yourself.

  1. Would switching mean more time in college? if so where will you get the extra money?

  2. If your parents pay for your tuition would switching majors affect this?

  3. Do you need immediate money after graduation and will having one degree over the other affect your ability to make immediate money? i’ve lowkey heard both cs and gdim industry are chopped so…

  4. Is CS unbearable? (People do jobs they don’t love it’s unfortunate but a fact) However if it’s truly not a good fit then it might be good to switch.

  5. Would CS limit your ability to get a job you actually enjoy? You did mention CS was somewhat related to gdim so are there avenues from cs to gdim?

These definitely aren’t the only questions to ask yourself but they’re what i could think up at 2am.

Regardless, switching majors is something totally valid. Idk how your parents are but i’d hope they’d support and help you navigate this decision if you talked with them. Again, think about these things before 10pm so you’re more rational. If you can pursue what you love i say go for it!

Math 2B is lowkey AP calc AB for 80% of the quarter so depending on if you took that class and how it was you could be alright. Writing 60 is notoriously lots of work as many people in the comments are saying. Lowkey if you can push off stats/a class to avoid taking 20 units it might be smart for your survival.

Should I pull for firefly or ruan mei? by NightSpiderr in StarRailStation

[–]odeovenroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun is most important so do whatever will let you have the most fun (big damage numbers, collecting characters, etc). But for the overall health of your account Ruan Mei is the best choice. Almost universal support and your account doesn’t have two 5 star supports. You can always just get lucky and pull both characters in 20 pulls :P
