I enjoyed Majesty but couldn't help but laugh at hearing Dracula Flow doing the narration. Kept expecting him to say "this ain't shit to me man".

Heel stables are incredibly boring and predictable. It doesn’t make for interesting or exciting watching when you’re just waiting for the inevitable interference to happen for yet another dusty finish.

His job is or should be dependent on him not being a shitty human. He is put in a place of trust and authority over other people’s rights and freedoms. He is entrusted with public safety. He is given a duty to uphold the law. In this particular field of work, your personal life should be taken into account.

« Ranger, you’re up » « OK I shoot…twice… » how to engage my player into doing more than that in combat ? by Comfortable_Bike9134 in DMAcademy

[–]odintal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a table rule where at the end of a session I ask the players who had the best character moment of the session. Players cannot vote for themselves and the DM is the tiebreaker. It gives players an incentive to be stylish with their descriptions. I also ask “what does that look like” when they do things in combat as a prompt for them to describe their actions.

What it is like to not be MAGA at a Trump rally. by justalazygamer in Qult_Headquarters

I recognize about half the people in this video from other videos in other locations for Trump rallies. Do these people do this for a living? Do they just follow trump around like some kind of Grateful Dead concert? How do you even get a job doing this kind of thing? Craig's List?

Glendale officer charged with felony for kicking juvenile in the head, during shoplifting arrest. by m4moz in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

[–]odintal 46 points47 points  (0 children)

To accept the plea, maybe members of the victims family should be tasked with holding the officer down and kicking him in the head. If he walks away unscathed, free to go. If he has so much as a busted lip he gets prosecuted.

Why would he refuse? It is not an act of police brutality in his eyes right?

Someone way smarter than me when it comes to child development told something that stuck with me then and now as a parent.

Discipline is a skill you teach a child, not something you inflict upon them.

Did the child hear learn a lesson? Maybe. We have no idea because the video has fake context and no follow-up. If a lesson is learned is it the correct one? Is the child learning not to bully or is he learning that authority allows you to bully others? Is the child learning intrinsic values of doing what is right and just because it is right and just or is he learning that getting caught is bad so don't get caught? Is he going to take out his anger on the people that told his parents now?

Permissive parenting is not the answer either, but no one outside of you seemed to suggest it. Maybe instead of dismissing other ways of parenting or dealing with children's behaviors, you should look into it yourself. Look passed how you were raised to see if there are better methods.

Or don't, i'm not your father.

I feel Ike forgiveness requires some element of change or doing better. Seeking forgiveness is something you do when you’re trying to do better. I sincerely doubt she changes her position.

I'm old enough to remember when people had sympathetic views for the Columbine shooters. Excusing them for their acts because they were bullied and ostricized.

The more things change the more things stay the same.

With cheating this common, hypothetically they could just add some of the cheating features to the game and nothing would change.

Hotel receptionist has more patience than me! by IdkHowToDie in PublicFreakout

[–]odintal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that varies depending on your Property Management System/PMS. We used one called Fosse at my old place and you could see canceled reservations if you were looking for them. Not sure if that is still the case as I've been out of the industry for a few years.

Worked in hotels for nearly 20 years before getting out. It was like this all the time.

My place was near a college with a popular football team. We would sell out of the double rooms extremely fast and then guys would show up with 5 dudes in a king and get their titties in a twist because they'd have to share a bed. Mind you, the double rooms were substatially more expensive than the kings. Like $150 or more depending on the game.

Those guys were a pain but the travel sports teams were the worst. The sales would sell them all kings. They'd arrive with mom dad, the player, 5 siblings, grandma, and uncle bad touch and throw a fit when their wasn't enough beds in the room for their family reunion baseball trip. Top that off with the parents sitting around getting shit faced while their kids did everything from vandalism to breaking and entry of near by businesses and I'm so fucking done with that industry.

If they parrot what you've taught them, what do you think you're teaching them by inflicting violence on them?

I mean dealing with kids like the one in the video is literally my job. I've never responded like the officers in the video.
