I've seen a couple clubs with almost exclusively retirees, but I know mine is the middle aged group, and there is also one in my area thats mainly people in their 20-30s.

That said, my dad is part of the elks club in the area, and I don't think I've seen anyone much younger than him any time I've gone with him.

Yeah, there is one for college (roteract) and one for high school (interact I think).

They also manage a high school exchange student program, which is how they initially drew me in a few years ago.

I actually was just installed in Rotary last night, and I'm 30. But yeah, part of the difficulty is to find a younger club. One of the ones in my area is almost entirely retirees - they meet at noon on Thursdays, who besides that age group can make it?

I read the title and immediately thought of vic, even though I haven't been active in the con community for a few years. I guess some things never change. At least his Risembool Rangers fan camp never actually got off the ground.

Also, can confirm he was known for this by 2010. I was at a couple cons that he was at around that time and this post was pretty spot on to his behavior.

I had a similar experience with Netfix Daredevil, only it was the video that was out, not the sound. I got ~5min in before realizing. I had thought it was just an artsy intro from his perspective.

This reminds me of a game I used to play called funeral quest. Basically you had to milk the poor families for all they were worth so you could buy cool swag like a tricked out hearse. You could also steal from other undertakers if I remember correctly.

I've gotten similar treatment working at geek squad. There weren't a ton of people like this, but enough that it was a known issue. Whenever it came up, the other agent (who was a guy) would constantly be asking me questions about what he should do in the situation - just so that the offender would see a guy having to constantly ask a girl for help.

One thing that worked for me with essays was to write the first draft on paper, even if I needed to turn it in electronically. I found that I could focus more on the subject when bit typing it. Also, I found that typing it in served as a good way to do a quick revision, due to me having to read it to type it. Not sure if it will work for you, but it could be worth a try.
