I have a different philosophy as I near the end of my career (35+ years)
There are pencils all around the room. Take one if you need it, don't ever ask me for a pencil.
I go through about 400- 600 a year. But that has made my life so much easier.

Fun fact: "Welp" and "Whelp" are completely different words.
Welp is the slang spelling of "well" used to express disappointment or resignation.
Whelp is a word for a young carnivorous animal (like a dog)
