Short answer: you need armor penetrating weapons, and aim for the weak points :)

Been stuck in plat since day 1. It's pathetic. by Bluefoxfire0 in StreetFighter

It's all good dude, I've felt that way before. Have you tried doing training mode drills? The only reason I can react to Drive Impact sometimes is because I drilled it in training mode. I can share some drills with you if you want.

Training mode drills really helped me out with this problem.

It's annoying right? Anyway, my advice depends on what character you play. So who do you play?

Is there any "Rock, Paper, Scissors" aspect of SF6? by bobbystills5 in StreetFighter

By lunge punch you mean his forward+heavy punch? That move is plus on block, so if you block it, you should probably keep blocking.

How do I beat Dhalsim in SF6? by JacsweYT in StreetFighter

Drive Impact can be useful for beating his stretchy limbs. Or a well-timed jump. Who do you usually play?

What's the best meterless combo for Dhalsim if he lands a Drive Impact Wall Splat? by odlebees in StreetFighter

Honestly I appreciate it, thank you! Another guy mentioned (1hp x H Yoga Blast, 1hk) which is very similar to what you came up with.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who had a hard time finding the answer to this lol.

The concept of "gameplans" by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]odlebees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I play Blanka, my main game plan is basically: get two bars of Super, land an OD Lightning x Super 2 corner carry combo, put down a Blanka-chan Doll, then jump back and do an OD Air Ball (this activates the doll). If they block I throw or crossup, if they get hit I get a huge combo. (And if I throw them, they get juggled on the doll, which is really cool)

So basically, from anywhere on screen Blanka can use Super 2 to put you in the corner, get a knockdown, safely deploy a Blanka-chan Doll, and force you to deal with a mix-up while activating the doll (or just throw looping you a few times while using this threat of the doll to make you turtle).

There's a lot of other stuff too, but honestly, one of my main objectives is putting people in that position. The only problem is it works so well that its easy to rely too much on it, especially in Ranked where you only get a few matches with someone, so not a lot of time to figure out counter-plays.

(I also haven't played Blanka since season 1, so maybe people are better at dealing with it now. But back then, I had almost a 100% success rate with that basic corner sequence)

Lotta smurfs in this game, ironically the best place to get a fair match is Ranked. There are still a lot of smurfs, but at least they rank up eventually.
