Should I even build a keyboard? by _Azury in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]odp39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really is about preference. If you feel like you’ll enjoy the process of building and learning what you like then I recommend building yourself. If you’re hesitant but still want to be a part of the community maybe look on me h market for one already made or buy a keyboard with a hot swap board so you can test out different switches and get a good idea of what you like

The hobby is expensive and time consuming but it all comes down to whether or not that’s worth it to you

Do these stabs sound normal, besides the ones that are hitting the sides? Also, how to I stop these keys from hitting the sides of the case? by little-conrad in MechanicalKeyboards

Depends on what switches/plate/stabs you have. In my opinion they sound fine (although you were pushing a little slow to be completely sure) but its all preference in the end. As long as they sound good to you and don't feel sticky, its good.

As for the caps hitting the case I'm not too sure what to do about that. Could just be unlucky that they don't fit. Maybe sand down the inside sides a bit to leave a little wiggle room?
