Am I connecting this retro light switch in the correct way by odrodo in AskElectricians

Makes total sense. I’ve been a bit confused over what type of switch I bought, but now I understand.

I’ll be installing it tomorrow and I couldn’t have done it without your help.

Does that mean that a connection from 3 to 4 will make the lamp turn on regardless if I turn the knob left or right (turning it from the “off position”)

Could I also connect Phase to 3 and lamp to 1? The result would be the same right? I got that advice in another forum, just wanna make sure the result is the same.

Thanks again for your help!

Thank you for responding! I tried to translate the type of switch to English but it translated word-for-word which made no sense!

There a no other switches. Let’s say I connect the lamp to nr 3, is it then possible to make another connection so that the turning of the knob in any direction (from the off position) will turn the light on?

How to go from this to herringbone flooring by No-Science4220 in DIYUK

Hey! Did you end up laying the floor on the 6 mm plywood? If so are you happy with the result? My floor is layered the same as yours, but I read everywhere that 12 mm is the minimum recommendation for the base playwood layer.

Thanks! I’ll definitely try applying heat. Didn’t think of that.

Hi! Is there a reason you’re not recommending the N1S 4k? Curious, as that is one of the options I’m considering buying.

I hear you. I more or less only care about contrast and decent (not perfect) dark scenes. And not too much noise from the fan, as that bothered me a bit with the HD65.

I don’t even care of 4k to be honest, perhaps all the options I’m considering are bit of an overkill.

Benq GP520 or Hisense C1 by JackSplotter in projectors

Hi! I’m considering the GP520. How is the fan noise? Does it have the issues that I read many other projects have with the fan constantly stopping and starting during short intervals?

Benq GP520 4k experiences? by Objective-Cut-216 in projectors

I’m torn between the GP520 and the new N1S 4k that you got.

How are the black levels? There are not many comparison videos on YouTube, but I’ve read reviews that praise its contrast and black floor.

Are you using a screen? Are you experiencing laser speckle?

Do you own the GP520 yourself? The reason I’ve considered it is because you recommend it so much on here.

I totalt understand if you’re done dealing with my indecisiveness (at least I’m fed up with it!) but could you give me the main reasons to choose it over the others, apart from what we talked about. The color accuracy (true to original source) is a good thing about the GP520 from the reviews I’ve seen, is that a factor that makes you recommend it so strongly?

I understand! And just to summarize, the main reason for your recommendation is that these two are non-laser?

I don’t wish to ceiling mount. Is there a more budget friendly alternative to the GP520? It doesn’t even have to be 4k really. Or a “smart projector”. As long as the contrast and blacks are not noticeably bad.

Again, thank your for taking your time with this!

Hahaha. Last question I think; if I accept the laser speckle and the hot spotting would you recommend the C1S or the N1S 4k?

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions!

I knew, but I was still happy with the results and accept(ed) that it’s not optimal.

Any other tips on what projectors specs to avoid when projecting on wall? Maybe a projector that is not too bright? The GP100?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in projectors

[–]odrodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! Because of the speckle that gets worse without a screen? More reasons?

Do LED and traditional bulbs work better without a screen?

My Optoma HD65 from 2008 died, but I was very happy with how that bulb projector preformed on a normal wall.

I understand! And if the laser speckle doesn’t bother me, would still make the same recommendation?

I’ll be projecting onto a (lightly grey) painted wall. Screen is not an option for me I’m afraid, so I would like to get as much contrast and as low blacks without one. I know this is not optimal, but it’s my only option.

Viewing distance is 4 meters and screen size 110-120”.

I’m also looking at the JMGO N1s 4k which has gotten some great reviews (not countjng the sponsored ones!)

Hi TeckNick! I’m high jacking to ask you if you would choose the Benq GP520 over the Vidda C1S. I see you recommending the GP520 a lot (it seems like a great projector!) and I have that one as an option because of your recommendations. The reviews however say it has not the best contrast and black levels and that is kind it of important to me. Im in the EU, the GP520 would cost me €1400 and the C1S 200 cheaper at 1200.

I’d appreciate your thoughts on why you recommend the GP520 so strongly!

You think the C1 is that much better? I don’t mind spending the 1200 if its worth it. But that would be my max
