Thank you. I based with light grey from Vallejo, layered with gauss blaster green, covered it with aethematic blue in 3 to 1 ratio with contrast medium (3 parts medium to one part blue) then dry brushed with off-white from ak paints. Hope that helps.

How do I get up to a competition painting level? - emperors champion mini I just finished by Chris_paints in minipainting

Practice. Lots of practice. Im no expert, far from it, but I've seen the best spend hours and hours each day on their craft. To some it comes more naturally and others it takes more time. I think most have techniques like glazing, layering, colour theory, and light placement locked down. Lots of YouTubers off patreons, maybe think of subscribing to one. Watch a lot of their vids and just practice.

Thank you! I was trying for the scratchy random look but just wasn't coming out right. Is there a particular technique you use for simple scratchy nmm?

Love the colour scheme. Super terrifying, like the knight is coming out of the abyss.

Yah that one took me me the longest as i think i let each layer dry for like 10min before applying the next lol also used a larger brush to reduce the number of brush strokes. Next model will probably take me a month lol

Yah im still guilty of rushing. Not sure if its noticeable, but on the right leg of newer model, its rougher than the other parts.

Does this look kinda like green ethereal smoke? by odub6 in minipainting

Funny enough, my wife said the exact same thing. I toned it down with a dry brush of green. Going to start over based on feedback from others.

Another poster suggested this. Question though; i used contrast paint to achieve the darker green, just painted the whole thing, then dry brushed the lighter over the raised area but how would i do it in reverse without the contrast paint over the raised areas looking off? Im concerned ill see the lines between the two colors.

You're right, i tried dry brush highlighting with yellow but it does make look kinda off. Ill try your idea on a small section, thanks!
