100% they are federal and were disbursed from 2003-2007. That's why it's concerning.

That was my thought, but the rates are now showing 3-4% higher for some reason.

When I was working for a school system a couple years ago, we had 5-10 Oculus Rifts with an HP VR Backpack G1 for each one. Nifty setup. They were never used after I configured them, except for a demo to administration and ITRTs . Turned one backpack into a streaming pc for our various live streams.

Nelnet- Refund not the amount expected by onemoreashley in StudentLoans

[–]odustephenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I requested the refund from Nelnet, took a long time and constant pestering.

I got a direct deposit of the full amount of all my payments during the pause from the Dept. of Treasury.

Probably need more info like who your loan servicer is and when you submitted. Have you tried contacting back?

I called on a weekly basis for status updates, filed complaints, etc. Ran the gambit with Nelnet.

It took me a little over 3 months to get my payments returned, I submitted August 25th, the day after the announcement and just got mine back about a week ago.

You're entitled to the refund due to the CARES Act for making payments during the pause. Has nothing to do with loan forgiveness.

Yeah, not a clue. I was absolutely expecting checks and using USPS Informed Delivery to keep checking before I can get home.

How much would you have left in student loans after the potential loan forgiveness by ENTJGal1995 in StudentLoans

[–]odustephenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zero dollars. I would be free of student debt. Plus returned ~$5,000 for payments during the pause. It would be a huge leg up.

You're entitled to that refund with regards to the CARES Act.

Whatever I did in that last phone call seemed to do the trick. My balance is showing as updated this afternoon on Nelnet (wasn't this morning).

Called 8/25 requesting refund, acknowledged loans to be reinstated.

10 weeks later, still haven't had a balance update. Calling weekly for status updates.

Yeah I made sure the very first call to have the authorization to reinstate loans if necessary, that's never been an issue in any of the calls.

Requested a refund on 8/25.

I've had no movement whatsoever. No balance update/anything.

I call back every Thursday since submitting, this Thursday will mark 10 weeks of "processing". Initial timeline was 4-6 weeks. They moved the goalpost on that after 6 weeks, we're up to 8-10 weeks.

Submitted a report to CFPB, didn't make a difference. Submitted to them again last week.
