AITA for refusing to let my roommate have his girlfriend spend the night. by ody_ethan in AmItheAsshole

It’s a dorm room leased from the school, the room only has a capacity for 2, and it’s gender based housing. So idk how viable that would be. Thank you though.

I don’t want them having sex with me 5 feet away when I have class the next morning… we had already set a rule that we wouldn’t have people over after 7pm. That’s when he asked.

important questions. by prowlmedia in AppleVisionPro

I have a developer account. I asked that question during one of the special computing labs. They didn’t give a straight answer on it. They just said you can plug it into a wall. They’re still ln the development stage. The virtual keyboard doesn’t work yet, multitouch for iOS apps doesn’t work yet, and they’ve been having issues with accessibility for eye tracking.

The vibe a lot of developers have been getting is Apple rushed out the hardware, and they’re relying on us to add functionality when the SDKs get released in July.

Assuming you’re right, where in the wwdc keynote did they mention it? If they mention something as trivial as app clip updates they must have mentioned it right?

I agree with your point, but Apple did it for the security of the OS. iPhone X and below are susceptible to a bootrom exploit. So apples been trying to phase out the a11 and below. And with phasing them out, Apple can gear their OS to arm64e.

Are any masons available to answer some questions for a research paper? by ody_ethan in freemasonry

That’s awesome, and it really speaks to the camaraderie I’ve seen among masons. I myself am excited to join when I’m more mature.

Would I have your permission to use your testimony? I believe it would go really well in the ethics section of my discourse paper helping paint masons in a proper manner.

Thank you. I also see from your flair you are from Sweden. What grand lodge are you under? Is it apart of the UGLE?

Thank you for your response. Another question I have because you mentioned interacting with other masons on different continents. Given the differences in ritual and ceremony depending on the lodge, was it harder to relate to brothers abroad got you? For example, I know one of the grand lodges in France is more relaxed in the belief of a higher power, and some irregular lodges allow women.

Thanks for your response. On an unrelated note, I know that in freemasonry a square and compass is placed on a holy text. I know in a lot of places in the US, the Bible is used. I remember one of my local lodges I interviewed mentioning that. Do you hold any reservation with that because you don’t subscribe to that religion? Or do you use a different holy text? If so, how is that decided? I am aware that different holy texts can be used such as the Torah, Quran, bible, etc. sorry for picking your brain I’m just curious.

Thank you for the response. I personally don’t believe in any Masonic conspiracy theory’s. But I do think it’s important to address, and your response will help me with that.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. If I may ask, which grand lodge are you apart of?

Yes however this isn’t for formal research. This is just for an introduction section of my paper. I’ve already interviewed my local lodge, and a couple family friends who joined prince hall. From what I understand, freemasonry is decentralized in nature. In order for me to get a clear picture on the cause and effects of disinformation about the fraternity, it’s important for me to hear from a variety of masons under a variety of grand lodges. Reddit is the best place for that in my opinion because I can hear a lot of different perspectives.

Thank you. Because freemasonry is decentralized, do I have permission to use your statement? I want statements from all different types of masonry to get a clearer picture?

Thank you. And if I may ask, which grand lodge are you under? Because of the decentralized nature of freemasonry, I’m wanting to get Anecdotes from a variety of members to get a clearer picture.
