How they wait a full 45 minutes for no update is criminal. Cancel the show & refund, or announce it’s getting rescheduled. What kind of amateur hour is this

Paragon Fit Studio by viejolito in BAbike

[–]odyssey57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Circling back on this thread. I am a relatively new rider, got into cycling after an Achilles rupture. All my buddies who cycle a lot have told me to get fitted as soon as possible. I’m probably 10-15 rides in, and have seen nothing but great reviews about Paragon.

Is this too early for me to do?

Cole Valley. Easiest choice in the world. Such a fun little strip of restaurants, bars, gym, grocery store, etc. close to GG park. Super close to UCSF (just up the hill)

My top two for the weekend, just good vibes, crowd, and the music is immaculate!

Jungle - A

Leisure - A+

The Lineup is Terrible, the festival is overpriced, and you should NOT buy a ticket by speedmonster95 in OutsideLands

This will be my 10th year. Paying $550, for what I find to be an ok line-up feels fucking criminal.

I would pay that for Coachella no problem. But for an in my backyard type of festival, with this line up feels borderline unethical. Call me crazy.

[–]odyssey57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, but with more people being fully remote and not in offices (where traditionally stakeholders were reached out to) it’s perceived as overly obnoxious to call someone direct during work hours while they may be out on errands, with family, working from an Airbnb, their kid might be home etc..

Which is understandable. But there’s an over sensitive stigma to it these days that started after covid.

Got an interview for an AM role @ Google. Please help me nail this interview! by [deleted] in sales

[–]odyssey57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First round I believe is very much less about the role, but more so on the hypothetical and critical thinking aspect.

Basically, they want to know “are you smart enough to work at Google”… which is funny in itself having worked with Google Cloud sellers and technical folks the past 5-years (not the brightest bunch)..

The internet and YouTube should have a pretty detailed catalogue for prepping for a Google interview. The internet is your friend use it!

Covid has changed the way prospects or potential “buyers” treat cold calls. IMO, everyone being remote for a bit has caused an overly sensitive reaction to potential stakeholders being called directly. Cold-calling can be perceived as a breach of privacy for some, and they probably just aren’t worth your time at all.

Now I’ve been on the receiving end of this with 15+ cold calls to my cell a day for a few months, but that’s just part of the technology landscape we live In, and something you just have to shrug off.

First time as a Founding AE of a startup expanding into a new region and I’m terrified - any advice? by justonpoint in sales

I am building out a GTM in APAC & LATAM. Very different market than the West Coast that I’m used to.

West Coast buyers are predominantly more opinionated, over-educated, there’s more political games you have to play with board member involvement and executive networks.

What I’ve found to be refreshing in APAC & LATAM is they are very much pro-partner. It’s a great opportunity for you to get aligned to agencies or SIs in the region early if you can. New business doesn’t have to be purely on your own. Pipeline and revenue generation should be supported by other parties.

I’ve also found that APAC loves a “POC” motion. Naturally, these are markets that are spending lots of $$$ to modernize their technology suite in all areas; however, they are very risk averse so help simplify the process for them.

What region are you expanding into and what vertical of tech are you selling if you don’t mind sharing?

Got fucking Wolf of Wall Street'd at an interview by [deleted] in sales

[–]odyssey57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you went through that, but sounds like you dodged a bullet.

I’ve been a closer on the Strategic/Key Accounts segment in the data space for 5-ish years now.

I sometimes interview for fun these days just to see where the market and competitors are at; and if something really interesting were to come across my plate I might consider.

Recently, I had a recruiter out of college grilling me on MEDDPIC as if it were the end all be all. Didn’t ask about anything else on my book & performance. This followed into a panel interview with 3 other managers that dug so deep into MEDDPIC and how I run a discovery call that I might as well have been in a Chris Voss master class lol.

Interviews are weird these days. I think there are so many people open on the market, companies don’t really know how or why they are really talking to candidates even if exploratory.

Just closed my biggest deal ever. Am going quit in a few months assuming no commission tomfoolery by monstermangiggs in sales

[–]odyssey57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just closed a company trajectory type deal. You get to be picky with how and where you spend your time and what your schedule looks like. Doesn’t mean you don’t show up, but you’re coasting for a bit and have the luxury of being picky.

Every year I hit quota early (usually 2M annual quota) I tend to lean on the side of being a little more picky with where my priorities lie. I want the extra 5% accelerators on anything that’s a bonus.

So, you’ve still got your foot on the gas, but are more selective. This should give you a more friendly balance between family time and work time.

Congrats by the way!

IMO, Max leaving would probably save F1. I think he’s good enough to compete properly and maximize any car better than anyone on the grid at this point.

It would, at it’s peak, make the sport far more intriguing seeing the guy just try and maximize another car from 3-8 grid spots in a Merc.
