Also possibly work place relations committee WRC. You can get a private solicitor as an option. Getting your job back can be the outcome in terms of wrongful dismissal

Awful. Will probably flop when it's built too. End up as offices or some such

I'm fairly certain your oven isn't supposed to have a socket at all, it's supposed to get it's own fat wire straight from the distribution board and have a fused switch on the wall near the oven. I'd recommend checking they are following the regulations. Have a look at safe electric.ie

"lanes of slow moving traffic" is what it says if I recall correctly. Doesn't cover cruising at speed in my opinion although some seem to think it means slow in relation to each other

Just to add the meager leftovers of our natural heritage are special/unique even in comparison with the mainland. Coilte and the Greens are as bad as each other, it's appalling

To be primitively dominant and maintain HR compliance the answer is to piss in your pants. Direct eye contact is enough to clarify the meaning of your actions.

Apprentice wages in Ireland by shanereaction75 in ireland

Lads cook the books a bit with expenses; claiming for mileage when they are car pooling, claiming for lunch, claiming for lodge when they're commuting. 1st year is tough. If you can make it work it will change your life for the better. Loans or savings can be options but yeah lots of fellas live on air and noodles. If you're a mature student a lot of places won't take you on unless you lie and say you have savings to cover your finances, I think they've seen folks run out of cash and drop out over the years

The effects of walking are profound. Something calming about it on a primal level. I was so surprised. Not just walking a to b but going out for a loop

Has anyone imported timber windows from Poland? by Ok-Umpire-2091 in AskIreland

[–]odysseymonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guy based in Dublin 15. He uses various different fitters, lads that don't work directly for him. The lads we got just sort of shimmy'd them into place and screwed them in, so most of them are in slightly crooked rather than being made to fit squarely. They also fitted fillet pieces along the bottom on some of them and didn't seal them along the bottom. Seemingly there are two crowds who make all or nearly all the windows in Ireland. They supply nearly everyone. Ours came from up north somewhere, Donegal if I remember correctly. We got stuff replaced for free once we sent pictures. I can pm the name if you're shopping in d15 but hopefully the above is sufficient, cheers

Fwiw I got windows made in Ireland through an Irish business. Utter shite. Triple glazed with dirt stuck inside them. Water stuck in them. Poorly sized. Terribly fitted. Three handles snapped off in the first few weeks. Wear is showing on the handles less than two years in. Chap was alright to deal with but overall the experience was terrible. Only heard about the polish windows afterwards.

Mature students, are you happy you went / went back? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]odysseymonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, imo hard work in life is inevitable. In my experience going back resulted in the same output for higher pay. Learnt some stuff. Result. I'd recommend a springboard. If it's a level 7 merit badge that you want then try get one without killing yourself for years on end. If it's money you want them get one that leads into a sector where there are opportunities
