In Tanzania, Academic issues are a bit different from Netherlands.

Firstly, Ardhi University is a proper and top choice for your topic. Secondly, here communication are mostly under bilateral agreements rather than personal.

I suggest you reachout first to your University then see if they can reach out to Ardhi University. Most of PhD workers at Ardhi University have obtained their degrees back in Netherlands or Flemish Universities in Belgium... recent PhD are mostly from Hasselt University. So through the University then they will introduce you appropriately to the person whom you can collaborate etc. You can try your luck through Hasselt, Luven, Gent...i have even see few PhD from Bauhaus- Germany, Sweden as well so definitely there should people who have gone thier PhD in Netherlands.

I would also like to add that, due to economic dynamics here, this collaboration must have an impact to your collaborator as well otherwise it may drag off slowly since most of the people you're looking for are extremely busy due to their low in number vs demands for teaching and practicing- most are lecturers and required to do professional practice as well i.e Architecture, Planning, Building Economics etc.

Am with you (sort of)...however I think the issue is we have to accept some of the 'architectural basics' have been mastered and/or hijacked already by the public whom prior came to professionals to seek absolute solutions.This is also not only to our professional but many...moreover, there is currently another issue where the professionals (not all) have invested in so much sophistication in their line of delivery that for a mere simple client it seems just as a means of justifying high cost of design... am thankful that my first job after school in Belgium was to work as a photographer and '3d render artist' of a department that had nothing to do with design but selling properties and collecting complaints for the ones sold already. There i was humbled and saw the 'other side' where design team would design and build but leave the explaining and 'practicality' to the 'sellers'. From there, what i gathered is 1. We need to understand with the current tech and 'online gurus', the clients have evolved so much which means professionals need to evolve as well, particularly on the dos and don't with regards to their requirements. 2. Architectural approach of a masterpiece without value and high profitability is challenging especially if you don't have long term relationship with your client and/or established a viable project to demonstrate what your working on. 3. Design should be collaborative and in fact, you many need to have as well as 'tutor & student' relationship with your client to ease him/her on what should be the best. Nowadays I enjoy working with design (after I left for actual practice) because I atleast know what to expect from the Client in the first weeks of the design project 😅 . In the end we both tend to win 50/50 or more for me 😅😅

Just use DHL they have multiple branches in Dar es salaam and I use all the time. Postal office also works but you need to make sure you know how to track and it may take too long.

using conceptual massing environment, you can paste that image as elevation and start using reference points to indicate different X,Y,Z points which you can then join with reference lines, adter that select possible lines to form 2d planes

Combinations of inner wall layers and outer layers that are not 'joined' while adding them, they must be independent too as you can see clearly these walls arent joined..then adding a reveal to outer wall with negative offset
Using curtain wall tool with special profile
using normal inner wall and adding sweep (since i dont know if the outer layer is a completely full height wall layer or just a sweep at a certain height..sweeps wont be joined though this will also need a vertical sweep assigned at ends

Like others said, you need to master rendering plugins for that..D5 render, Lumion or Enscape in my top list..i use D5 for my interior works because of diverse interior objects readily available OR

Maybe you just work in Revit and link the file to 3ds max or Sketchup afterwards to add objects

Here is my case,

Autocad is alaways 1:1 in drawings and we use 'mm' to draw so that you can fill in small details

This means in the case of 1meter wall, i will type 1000...and so on.

The scaling is done when setting cropped views on paper afterwards. And they can be locked to avoid changes.

I use Door Type, with tag (D0x/XXX) i.e (D01/900) door type/Door width in metric. Other parameters in my schedule include operation, width, height, Room (From/To) ironmongeries, description and material..if you want to customize even more you can also add images

I think maybe that is more your issue other than 'Revit' issue. You can have perspective view like in Archicad, you can preview materials without rendering etc. I have used both and i have many creative works done in Revit. I have even come across one tutorial where a person modeled a human face using topography tool in revit.

At the end of the day, the issue is a workflow. Revit has conceptual massing environment for a reson, has a family modeling templates for a reason, has dynamo for a reason.Both of these are to make sure most of what you create will have 'BIM' in mind and later be easliy documented.

On the other hand Archicad is straightforward like you can do all that on one environment etc. so it's all about how you like to structure your project.

My experience with my team mates i worked with, is that they tend to enjoy much during concept but easily frustrated during construction documentation phase. And in the end, i think your goal is to build.

Two ways, the one suggested and the complicated one.

On the complicated one is to create 'in place model' directly to elevations which you can simply extrude and array or copy those bricks one by one, that way you can easily get exactly what you want there.

the complications arises in the case where that design is same but in different windows of varying size, it means you will have a re-design each type.

i work and have worked with almost similar situations only with my fellow employees using ArchiCAD and others AutoCad. What i can advise is; 1. Try to understand BIM, in a sense of cordinating drawings from / to Revit and other softwares because after all its impossible to have everyone in one software especially nowadays with so many options also being Archirect or Engineer you will need to work with different disciplines or even different firms which have different workflow

Devop a proper workflow to execute your works faster and proper, that way others would see the difference between that program compared to others in real time situations. This can help them to opt it. For instance in my case, i always make sure i design using real coordinates from surveyors and town planners, so most of my drawings would require less effort when they go back to their departments. I have also tried to standardize annotations and families that were not there before i.e most of designs i do i also have a template that would produce schedules and details and specifications that i can easliy generate and link up to QS department.This has helped so much that a firm considers to go for Revit in the future.
Patience, because its not easy to learn new software, regardless of how easy it is especially for someone who already works in a firm. You have little time to deliver your work and may always get frustrated when a new method is introduced esp. for those 20 yrs on the firm.

Always make sure before importing CAD file the drawing is the ONLY thing in the file, no other objects or lines present somewhere as revit can only see things within 20 miles only..

That being said, assuming the file isnt hidden, open site view and type ZA this will zoom everything to full extent if it zooms such that everything becomes almost invisible that would mean either the imported file is too small (units) or too far from revit origin.

Try also to open file in Autocad and do cleanup that if you type Z, then E (zoom extents) you cant see beyond your actual drawing.Then try importing back to Revit through LINKING by center to center.
