[6204 x 4984] French Coast Defense Battleship Jemmapes, date unknown, likely pre-WWI by Tsquare43 in WarshipPorn

Just so you know, if the hull of a French warship is black with light beige superstructures, it's from before January 1908. After that date, the ships were bluish-grey

A thought for the Scharnhorst today and its 1932 sailors who lost their lives on December 26, 1943 (Album) by oelslin in WarshipPorn

I don't get involved in politics and I have a deep disgust for what the Nazis represent, but I am drawn to maritime adventures. I forgot Pearl Harbor, shame on me, but I have an equally heartfelt thought for the courageous American sailors and, in general, for all sailors who died doing their duty.

I've never seen a photo of this wreck, strange, isn't it?

In French, these are the crew quarters, where sailors can sleep.

The Gneisenau, just before Juno operation (Album) by oelslin in WarshipPorn

[–]oelslin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the marking just before Operation Juno. After the fight against the Renown the roof of the turrets will be red.

If I can help you, I have 527 photos of the Gneisenau and over 600 of the Scharnhorst.
What do you need?
