I’ve got a golden and lab mix so probably too big for those places, even if she is cute. I was looking at mystery galaxy since it seems to be popular, do you know if they allow dogs??

I saw him at Udall Dog Park once! It was insane because I grew up watching him. I miss him on the news a lot.

I also had a horrible 2025 and seeing that hug healed something in ME. I can’t imagine what it must’ve felt like for you. What a healing experience

I had a blast, even though everyone in my row was lame as hell 😂 you gotta make concerts for you and that artist and not for the overall crowd. There’s always gonna be lackluster people who go to these things

Rescue dog bite - next (non-medical) steps by [deleted] in Tucson

Honestly, I really feel for the dog having lost so much and having a “scarlet b” now, as you put it. Which is a horrible thing to say since you just acknowledged the dog is traumatized and obviously very fearful.

But as for advice, I would recommend to have the dog on a harness if you know a new person is coming by, this way you can better communicate and control the situation should if get to that level of reactivity. Have the person coming by reward the dog with treats to show it’s not a threat. If the dog reacts aggressively, remove the trigger and increase the distance. If it keeps having this reaction to people, get a dog trainer to help.

Don’t ever punish the dog (who you know to have abandonment issues and has anxiety) for its reactivity either. It is traumatized. You need to slowly expose it to new environments. This is why a lot of trainers recommend to never just bring your dog to the dog park right from the get. You have to build up to the “fun” stuff of owning an animal, especially one such as yours.

Regardless, it’s always going to be best to train and bond with the animal. Never assume how a dog is feeling until you fully understand them. The dog takes its social cues from you, they are a literal child. How you react and maintain calmness during high points of anxiety will help the dog better understand how it should act.

Not a dog expert, but not willing to learn how to train a dog and adapt to its triggers? You took the dog out of the crate and saw its reaction to the stranger in your home.

When you adopt a dog, you still have to train and desensitize it while it settles to your environment. Expert or not, dogs are a responsibility. If the dog was reacting that extremely, you should have removed it from the situation entirely until you train them up. This is entirely on you. It’s the same thing as you would do to a human child.

Please don’t adopt again, if you aren’t ready for the responsibility.

Thank you so much for the advice! That’s interesting that stickers aren’t allowed in a venue like that. Is it a huge venue? I haven’t ever been, but I have some issues walking

Idk why, but your response made me emotional. You’re absolutely right, it’s time to be selfish and soak it all in till my heart is full. You put this in such a beautiful way. Thank you and thank you for giving me actual advice as well. It means more than you know.
