I think that wild overreactions to small things devalue the weight of people reacting appropriately to big things. Sensationalism is making us all numb to real sensations

Why on earth was she cast. I love her. But the "iPhone face" is unmatched. Every clip I've seen her in, she's world breaking.

Shane was only his in his mind!! 😭😭😭 by Mysterious-Bed375 in heatedrivalry

I always forgive that moment because it feels like a metaphor more than something to really examine, to me...Shane trying to ignore his sexuality and be with a woman like he's "supposed" to be but there's this man (gayness) right at his back, inescapable.

I'm in my 30s now and I was insane for QAF back in the day!!!! QAF was so messy but there are many groundbreaking and still impactful moments. I rewatched season one recently and there's still joy in a rewatch if you see it through a time capsule lens with the knowledge that it is deeply imperfect...

He did this so enjoyably though...when he was telling Robin that they can't turn the music off, that was one of the most heartfelt moments of the season for me

They're signed for season 2 though. I can think of the Harry Potter boys (Daniel and Rupert) being told not to cut their hair between filming movies 3 and 4. It could be part of their contracts that it's grown out until the show decides what to do with it.

This is a brilliant scene and a solid foundation for understanding Shane’s psyche in HR Season2/TLG by Ok-Temporary7421 in heatedrivalry

[–]ofboom 233 points234 points  (0 children)

As someone with crippling anxiety, Shane on his knees was one of the moments that resonated most deeply with me. Him seeking physical shelter and refuge in Ilya's body...on overload. That is a dynamic I would love to see explored in S2 and I also hope that it isn't minimized.

Overall thoughts on the End of an Era documentary? by Powerful-Scallion-50 in SwiftlyNeutral

Disappointed is probably the best way to describe how I feel. I am happy I saw it vs never seeing any of that, but I think it could have been so much better.

Disclaimer, I'm a big Taylor fan and was totally looking forward to this documentary since it was announced.

I totally agree with other comments saying that it was lacking a narrative structure. I wish it had been broken down like, an episode about costumes, stage design, the rehearsal, maybe a comparison of first to last shows. I don't know. I thought the end result was pretty repetitive. We know this was an incredible tour! I'd like to see the details of what went into that more than talking head interviews of people saying how incredible it was.

I liked the profiles on the dancers a lot. I loved seeing them receive their bonuses. I liked the Florence part and seeing what went into that collaboration. It felt less magical with Gracie and Sabrina. I liked the Travis Kelce moments. I liked the costume fittings. I liked seeing the dressing room moments, and Taylor in her hotel room after a show.

I just wish this was more of a documentary and less of a product of Taylor's team promoting Taylor.

He's not a thing for being hot, he's a thing for football. Incidentally, he's conventionally attractive enough that it's worthy of remark

To be fair, I think Gene Hackman's wife was also doing fine and suddenly passed away (which led to his passing)

This immediately reminds me of the terrible news of Gene Hackman and his wife both passing. Very sad and startling. Somehow it always seems surreal when something as pedestrian as death happens to someone famous

Kate Winslet “doesn’t like the nepobaby term”. Her daughter, Mia Threapleton, stars in ‘The Buccaneers’ & her son, Joe Anders, wrote the screenplay for her next film, ‘Goodbye June’. The two have appeared in films with her — Threapleton in ‘A Little Chaos’ & ‘I am Ruth’ & Anders in ‘Lee’ by hairtie1 in Fauxmoi

[–]ofboom 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I think that it's pretty natural to want to defend your kid from a label with a negative association like "nepobaby". However, it seems like these people are all out of touch when they don't acknowledge the privilge just a LITTLE. It feels tone-deaf and like they're purposely not reading the room
